Deauville Legend. May not have stayed the Melbourne cup trip, the ground didn’t help his cause but he still ran a mighty race. Won the Voltigeur before that, showed good progression. Looked decent value at 9/1.

If Hukum runs, he surely wins.

Odd yard, doesn’t seem to have many horses, or consequently runners, but seems hell bent on making every outing count, had a cracking strike rate last season and is three from eight the last fortnight.

He really impressed me when I saw him at Sandown Park, where he made last year’s Derby winner look like a whippet in the paddock before nailing him on the line.

Grand Alliance is the type of character that appeals to me, and he’s got a fair bit of ability too. Even if bang there, I’d still expect him to get up to no good, but hoping for a run for my money.

Taken the 33’s, just now, and with chance of non runners, I’ll see how he looks as an extra EW bet again in the morning. Hope Hukum runs, as he’s a smashing horse, and I’d have him as the sensible option

Can’t see hukum running unfortunately which will ruin the race

Be interesting to see what price free wind is if the previous dettori mounts lose and hukum comes out

She’s artificially low atm like all his mounts

Big big free wind fan, think she’s an outside shout for the Arc

A peak Pyledriver would win this, I think, but my overall impression is he tends to need the run at this level first time out so, in an essentially non-betting race, it’s Free Wind for me as I scoop the £250,000 ITV7 on my own, refuse to even be interviewed on the phone, still less traipse to wherever they are next week, and go on air, standing there like a muppet holding a fake cardboard cheque the size of Bournemouth, and having exercised my “no publicity” rights proceed to spend the lot on Waitrose Valencia Orange Lollies.

Went in again for a bit of 6/1 on Deauville Legend after the 30p rule 4. He was a big fancy of mine at Ascot last year but got head bobbed on the line, that was a painful one. Ardakan obviously wins though as he’s the biggest price.

Gone with Free Wind but with Hukum out Pyledriver wouldn’t necessarily need to be 100%

Plyedriver is a favourite of mine but the concern is the trainer is negative about him and I’ve never heard him be negative about this before

That looked a fun ride, didn’t need to be 100%

The King George winner is back!

Shame I thought he’d need the race.
