To all the TRF family stay safe, enjoy the festive holiday period (however/whatever way you celebrate it) with your family and/or friends et al and for those who don’t celebrate it, hopefully you will be able to find something and/or someone(s) that will help amuse you sufficiently to take you through to the start of a New Year.

It’s been life affirming coming back here after so long away to find many old friends I have never met, and to see the quality and kindness has never faded. Happy Christmas.

I’ve now counted at least ten postings here on TRF this Christmas Day morning and, what’s more, most of them weren’t from me!

24/7/365, TRF is the racing community that never sleeps and is always there.

I hope everyone goes on to enjoy a splendid day, whether celebrating Christmas or not.

There’s a Christmas pudding nearby with my name on it – I’m off to make short work of it before later completing a 59-timer in declining to watch the monarch of the day’s Christmas Day Speech.

Have fun whatever you’re up to.

“I love going Point-to-Point racing and have done since 1978, but between you and me I’m now at a stage where I’m like: “ANOTHER 3m race? Really? Someone wake me up in five and a half minutes when they’re approaching the second last!”

LOL I do the same, especially if I’ve had a bet on the race, find it agonising every time my horse gets to a jump, Cheltenham is the absolute worst for it! Obviously I’ll watch the whole race but have my heart in my mouth every time they get to a jump at the festival.

Happy Christmas to all of you beautiful people.

    Merry Xmas to you all.

    The real fun starts tomorrow.

I’ve had my ATR tracker email through and just the 2 horses lining up for me tomorrow I wasn’t already aware of.

Ritson up at Newcastle and Oscar Thyne at Wetherby.

A nice each way double coming right up! :yahoo:

Razeen wouldn’t be found dead on a Xmas thread but
Let’s remember the famous ghost of Christmas past, so misunderstood by all admins, who sadly never understood his malevolence that supercharged and fired up the very forum they created into a powerhouse of addiction.

The Greeks had Prometheus the titan god of fire who stole fire from the gods and gave it to humankind to fire and power civilization as we know it today.

Likewise we had Razeen a similar god of fire but unappreciated and seen as a dangerous loose cannon who was banished back to Bromley for one of his off the wall extreme noxious outages – his trademark of love for this hothouse of contradictions.

As one Betfair chitchatter wrote when Razeen left it was like someone put the leckie out.

Salsabil ( fromerly Slippy Blue) wrote a dozen years ago..

‘Just had a quick look at archives and I didn’t see the Zorro thread, I’m pretty sure I would have been on it at some stage. I remember the monocled buffoon that was Razeen well, he said he lived in one of the more salubrious parts of London and then let it slip he lived in Bromley
Chief Inspector Gamble had him down as Salty Jack but could never get the conclusive evidence to nail his man but he was always chief suspect. I would love to read some of those old threads that used to happen around those times, it would be a bit surreal no doubt but would be funny to see the lounge again as it used to be and the main protagonists in action’

Razeen was never included in the suspect list of the unbalanced Salty Jack crisp maniac. Both had malevolencies but Razer funneled his ire into honest abuse – he was edgy short tempered, and shocking never suffering fools and to him most were fools – Jack was just a psycho hiding behind a black veil.

MERRY XMAS to all those ghosts of Xmas past whose haunting words fade in the memory.

MERRY XMAS to all those hardcore writers of the present who create furore and hell in their patchwork of words drawn on and in honour of past ghosts – not forgetting the little worders who cement the gaps and can entertain in often equal measure but more quietly and with less fuss and bearing their modern slogan of DON’T LOOK BACK.

Chezza had a lovely day….until Great Aunt Lily informed him he was adopted, his actual biological mother was Margaret Thatcher and his father was an unspecified member of the 1961/2 season Lincoln City FC squad, as Maggie was a bit of a football groupie back then.

    I hope everyone had a wonderful/miserable Christmas(delete as preferred).

Between discovering our Turkey was three days out of date and having a mouse running round the kitchen today was nothing if not eventful.

Tomorrow will be torture as I am working so won’t have the opportunity to watch the races until Wednesday evening.

Chances of me avoiding the King George result?

Well Patriot I gobbled and quacked my way through a Turkey and Duck combo that was so strangely put together possibly by scientists that if I had put an electric charge through it – it might well have got up from the table and walked away shouting BANDAGES.

Well I wish all a merry Christmas and an extremely happy and
healthy New Year. Mine and MrG’s Christmas plans of seeing our
family down south in London, including our 5 month grandson,
didn’t quite work out the way we had planned, she in Hospital
and me confined to bed, both with flu. However MrsG got out of
hospital at the 11th hour and my wonderful sister (angels don’t
always have wings) had already stepped into the breach to save
the day for both of us. Family are priceless
