No entries or ante post prices available yet, but I will be all over today’s impressive Leicester winner Matsuri if he goes here.

Roger Varian is never one who goes overboard with praise for his horses but, when interviewed after today’s demolition job, you could tell he felt this colt is out of the top drawer.

There’s a possibility he may go to the King Edward VII instead, or even straight to the Irish Derby, but, even though this is shaping up into a really good race, Matsuri is the one to beat here.

Kings gambit and Brackens laugh likely go to this race as well.

Bit puzzled as why King’s Gambit is as short as 3/1 upped to Group 3 after an impressive handicap win, but Botanical is 9/2 upped to listed level after an impressive handicap win. I like King’s Gambit, but again bookmakers ultra defensive.

Sometimes you get a horse putting up a performance in a handicap that is better than the vast majority of Group 3’s. If I was the owner of Kings Gambit I’d have wanted to supplement him into the Derby.

Al Musmak for me at a big price.

Genuine excuse for his last run and was a better 2yo than most of these. Will like the ground too.

The trip may stretch him though.

Edit : Have added Brackens Laugh at 9s

The SSR crowd trying to make excuses for him. If a foreign jockey had ridden like that, they would be tearing him to pieces.
