    Market up for this………

    https://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing/ante-post-racing/national-hunt/greatwood-hurdle/winner

I’m surprised that Wordsworth isn’t quoted for this, as I thought he’d be at head of market. Rightly popular on here for Cesarewitch, and he’d be of serious interest in this, depending of course on what mark he’s alloted (I’m assuming he’ll get one of course)

Another who isn’t quoted is Homme Public, and I’d be interested in him this year, and also Benson, but I’m not convinced they’ll head back there again.

Of those quoted, I thought that Altobelli was the most interesting at 20’s.

Thought I’d get a thread up with it priced up (sort of), but no intention of an early bet in this, and no convinced I’ll be looking for an Antepost, till at least five day stage.

I think Wordsworth will be seen to best advantage over hurdles at 2m4f, or even 3m.

I agree with you ff. this is not a race where I’d usually be involved in ap, but I do think that 12-1 is worth a bet

Ladbrokes is on its own with the 14/1 for Luccia, so had to take it before it goes.

Question is will she run in the greatwood or the Gerry fielden at Newbury

She’s a good thing off that mark just a question of where nicky goes

Since nicky ran both epatante and Marie’s rock in the gerry fielden I’d be holding off on backing her for this

Nemean Lion was impressive last time and looked to me like he’d go better on good ground, though connections always seem to seek easy going, which they will almost certainly get here.

As for Benson, wouldn’t he be better over Hedges?

“Nemean Lion was impressive last time and looked to me like he’d go better on good ground…”

Kerry Lee has 2. Nemean Lion who likes ease in the ground and Black Poppy, who I’d quite like if the race was in the Spring, who wants a decent surface.

I’ll be going to this and there are 2 obvious candidates for it. Nemean lion and Luccia have both been highlighted well enough already by people on here.

But it’s far from guaranteed one or both end up here.

One I do like and who I think is more than likely to be aimed at it is Petit Tonerre. I’m convinced there’s room off his current mark and always travels well into his races.

I also don’t think Faivoir’s win in the county hurdle was a fluke and I’m sure Skelton said the other week this was going to be his first target of the season.

Afadil has his prep race tomorrow. Taken the 16s for the Greatwood.

How far would lookaway have won this by

Trainer has thrown away a mark of 122, which he would surely have won a big pot off

    Drifted like a barge today

Tanked around though before getting tired

Nicholls is the premier target trainer and would be no surprise were he to go close

Good luck to the handicapper having a stab at a mark for the Mullins pair who haven’t run for him yet

On Lookaway FF, he’s another one very tricky to assess as that Sharp Novice Hurdle was full of lightly raced ones, no idea where the handicapper goes on him.
