Could be another Dandy benefit day but I really like Tiddlywinks who ran a blinder at Goodwood and will be much better suited by Ripon.
Wouldn’t be taking the stingy 10/1 on offer though as it’s along way off and no knowing what the ground will be like.
August 10, 2010 at 13:01 #312029Bloody squatters!
Where’s TAPK?
August 10, 2010 at 13:31 #312033Haven’t updated Raceform Interactive for a couple of weeks, as I almost exclusively use it for Draw Analysis. Bit weird considering I’ve been paying for the National Hunt as well since April.
RIPON 6f H’caps since 2005, 19+ runners
1 0-10
2 0-10
3 0-9
4 0-10
5 0-10
6 0-10
7 0-10
8 0-10
9 0-10
10 1-8
11 2-10
12 2-10
13 0-9
14 1-10
15 1-9
16 1-10
17 0-9
18 0-10
19 0-10
20 0-8
21 0-3
22 1-3
23 1-3Not bad. Stalls 10-16, plus the three against the far rail. Just the 10 bets for me in the race.
All the relevant races were on Good or easier ground. However, the current going is Gd to Fm, and there are showers forecast for Thursday and Saturday, but not the other days.
August 10, 2010 at 23:24 #312125I’m tempted by
Excuse Moi
but I probably have to rethink
August 11, 2010 at 14:36 #312235Noverre To Go, classy horse in a weaker race
10/1 lush

Where’s TAPK?
Gerald you know i could say
Tajneed
has been laid out for it and Trotter will be riding it also that the 10"s is going faster than the new Bugatti Veyron Sport! But i do like the look of both
Pavershooz
at 14"s and
Damien
at 16"s!
August 11, 2010 at 22:44 #312320The draw at Ripon can play havoc after some rain.IF it’s good/softish ground the high draw can come into play.
August 12, 2010 at 12:37 #312379Pavershooz is my tip in this race it is
August 12, 2010 at 13:33 #312388Tajneed is wanting a bit of cut, isn’t he? How sure is he to get it? 7/1 seems a bit short.
Just checked, ground has gone from Gd to Fm earlier in the week to Good now. Drawn 20 out of 20.
I like Pavershooz, and he’s just come into form, but he is drawn on the near side. Maybe he can win a 6f H’cap at York next week, if there is one.
edit: Sorry Darren, only just read your post! I’m sort of jumping on your bandwagon.
August 12, 2010 at 19:44 #312484Noverre To Go
will put in another big run on Saturday and is a solid ew.
I’m interested to see how
Shifting Star
goes. He was hacking in the last two furlongs at Newmarket last time and couldn’t find a run. The form says eight but he’d have won if he found the gaps. He’s at a reasonable mark and judging by that last runs should run better than 25/1 shot he is now. He’s drawn 14 also. Hasn’t won in 2 years but all his wins have come on Good or Good to Soft.

There’ll be plenty of cut.
August 12, 2010 at 21:33 #312501Looking at both the draw and the trends, and everything else, I’d say Noverre To Go just edges out a few others, including Tiddlywinks and Tajneed.

So don't run, just like the others always do
August 12, 2010 at 23:56 #312522Pace looks like coming out of stalls 1, 3, 6, 16, 17, 20.
I can’t understand the money thats come for
Hitchens
. He’s only ever won on ground with firm in the description and he’s badly out of form even on that. His mark is plumetting but what could he be showing at home that warrants him at 11/1 in some places.
August 13, 2010 at 11:45 #312572I mainly agree with your sentiments about Hitchens although he was only beaten 2.5L on G/S in a Group race as a 2yo he does seem to prefer better ground than he’ll get tomorrow. I’m not sure his mark is plumetting though, he’s only 5lb lower than the best mark he’s won off. I don’t really understand the gamble given the liklely ground, and won’t be getting involved, and lord knows i don’t need much encouragement to back Hitchens having done so unsuccessfully many times in big-field handicap sprints.
Does anyone have any opinions on Easterbys filly? She obviously knows how to get her nose in front, will like the ground, and may just (hopefully) have a bit more up her sleeve just yet. Have backed her e/w.
August 13, 2010 at 15:14 #312616Tajneed 4’s at Chandler, i’ll be suprised if they lay a penny. Will surely start longer than that, group horse in a handicap he ain’t.
August 13, 2010 at 20:08 #312648I’m taken a wee liking to Damika out of stall 15. Goes on the ground, course and distance winner and trainer is doing ok just now.
It also beat Tajneed 6 lengths at Hamilton on G/S earlier this year and look at that horse price now compared to the 16/1 for Damika.
Any thoughts?August 13, 2010 at 20:17 #312649I’ve had a dig at Damika tonight at 20/1. If it does get any softer those odds will last as long as Fist’s betting bank
I’d draw a line through anything drawn low tomorrow. -
