I’ll be cheering Gran Diose to give Louisa Carberry the double double but he’s a bit short for my usual ew betting so I’ll try Diamond Carl and Toscana du Berlais
May 18, 2025 at 18:40 #1730841Well done. I keep missing all of these races.
May 18, 2025 at 21:51 #1730855Thanks moe. Toscana du Berlais ran a great race too- he’s not very big but he jumped beautifully and tried his heart out.
May 18, 2025 at 22:14 #1730856I think of Troytown when this race is on. Always wanted to visit his grave at the pet cemetery.
May 18, 2025 at 23:46 #1730859Well done, green. I was there over the last two days and made some interesting shots and clips from the two racedays. I just don’t know if I’m allowed to post and how it can be done.
I was also there last December when Diamond Carl won the Prix George Courtois. He was one of my main fancies today and I still have that clip on my mobile phone. I’ve shown it to a few friends over the past 5-6 months.
What a great atmosphere this meeting had, though the Sunday was a complete family day. There were a few under 5-year olds too many, but nevertheless a great experience.
May 19, 2025 at 01:22 #1730860Is racing in France still really good value compared to the UK?
May 19, 2025 at 04:02 #1730862Whats the course like ERL , the track itself looks superb . I know its old but guessing well looked after ??
May 19, 2025 at 09:28 #1730867The track looked in perfect shape. There were very few falls and a lot of horses completed the course.
According to the RP the going on Sunday was described as very soft, though none of the finishers left a tired impression.
I had Grandstand tickets for both days (10.50 Euros each) and sat right in front of the water jump (Riviere de Tribune).
The Saturday crowd was roughly 6,000 spectators and double that on Sunday. Compared to last December when there weren’t more than 1,000 people at the track, it felt quite crowded.
A Hamburger meal including Fries and a drink cost 16 Euros, a single Hot Dog 8 Euros.
Of course the restaurants were a bit more expensive, but that’s Paris.
It was a great experience and obviously one worth repeating next year.May 19, 2025 at 09:32 #1730868Sounds very well priced ERL , well worth the trip .
