Took a fall on Cash King in the last and they haven’t actually moved him yet.
Hope that he is ok and is nothing more than precautionary.
All the best, Graham.
February 7, 2008 at 15:30 #140948Believe he has been air-lifted away to hospital.
All the best, Graham.
February 7, 2008 at 15:33 #140950Oh dear hope he is ok …..Best wishes to him
February 7, 2008 at 15:33 #140951Yes, let’s hope everything is ok. It’s always worrying when they take so long to move someone as it suggests something serious is wrong – but like Gaz said, fingers crossed it was just precautionary.

February 7, 2008 at 15:36 #140952Sounds very worrying. You hope for the best news, but it is rare that airlifts to hospital are purely precautionary and it sounds like he may be in serious trouble.
Thoughts with him and his, of course.
February 7, 2008 at 15:44 #140954RUK just reported he has a fractured jaw and was kicked in the chest. Taken to Addenbrookes, Cambridge in the road ambulance – air ambulance called in but not used.

February 7, 2008 at 15:45 #140956Gents – i dont have access to RP or ATR from here…..can you please keep this updated. Graham rides our horses and obviously very concerned for his health.
February 7, 2008 at 15:48 #140959Yes, fractured jaw by the sounds of things.
Could have been a lot, lot worse.
February 7, 2008 at 18:11 #140993One of racings nice guys. Get well soon Graham.
February 7, 2008 at 19:05 #141002Echo the above sentiments, and lets all keep remembering to support the injured jockeys fund…
February 7, 2008 at 21:21 #141105As he was knocked out he will be out for a minimum of three weeks.
Chances are if he has a double fracture of the jaw he will probably need an op.
As usual with these tough guys I just hope he doesn’t try and come back too soon.
February 8, 2008 at 10:59 #141226YES, HE IS ONE OF THE BEST, I DO HIS PICS FOR HIM AT WETHERBY MY SON WORSHIPS THE GROUND HE WALKS ON. GET WELL SOON GRAHAM OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU
February 8, 2008 at 14:08 #141270have sent message to Ferdy Murphy’s racing office which they say will be passed on to him – I think he’s the sort of guy that may not realise just how respected he is to a lot of people, and now may be the time to show it [albeit in unfortunate circumstances]…
February 8, 2008 at 17:20 #141315More upbeat reports today say his surgery went very well and he has a good chance of making the Festival- here’s hoping he does.
February 8, 2008 at 18:01 #141324Great to here it wasn’t worse, super jockey hope he has a speedy and full recovery. Good that it looks like he wont miss Cheltenham as ridng at the festival is mega importnt to these guys.
You always assume a jockey will be ok when a horse falls as it doesn’t look as bad on TV/Video but some of the falls these guys have are scary as hell and how they survive is amazing.
Worst I saw close up was Phil Tulk at Ayr when the horse went head over heels at the last and landed bang on top of him. I swear I thought the guy had been squashed to pulp and thought he must dead….you couldn’t even see him, totally covered by the horse which they had to yank off him…..15 minutes later he was laughing away like nothing had happened. He hadn’t a scratch on him, luckily the soft ground saved his bacon.
They are one tough bunch of guys and if they would let him I bet Graham Lee would ride tomorrow.
February 8, 2008 at 18:08 #141327Wasn’t it PAUL Tulk?…or Phil Tuck?
Colin
February 8, 2008 at 18:51 #141347Sorry mate Phil Tuck, Paul Tulk was a flat Jockey…..
Phil rode for Harry Bell at the time………he won the gold Cup on Burrough Hill Lad and rode 10 consecutive winners in 1986………he was a great jockey as well as being the one of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
Glad your here to keep me right
