This threads taking a turn now, no evidence hes been cruel to any living animal and in actual fact the photo is bad, really bad, but im assuming its never a pleasant sight removing a horse from a gallop, you cant just click your fingers and it vanishes, so ask yourself what about the photo is bad, its just the photo, the context is being decided by everyone else for some reason. Mosg pictures can appear good when bad and vice versa
Its an image issue, one hes going to suffer for clearly, but now you morons are going onto something else that has 0 facts to back it up
Blow by blow is a shocking example of anything,
March 1, 2021 at 12:42 #1526109Betfair trying to take the moral high ground now.
Lol, as the kids say.
March 1, 2021 at 12:44 #1526110I disagree Ham. imo Considering the emotive subject this thread has been Well balanced and well thought out all (EDIT careful Edif… well almost all) points of view from both sides. Can’t see what is wrong with Ship’s reported post either tbh (unless anything’s been deleted). Credit to TRF.
Value Is EverythingMarch 1, 2021 at 12:51 #1526111What is the conspiracy about AnimalAid, PETA and other activists doing any harm to Racing?
Racing has always hurt itself from the INSIDE!!!
Remeber J H Johnson? A great trainer, but he didn’t care much about animal rights, did he? All that mattered to him was his house safe

It was Davy Russell who punched a horse, Nicky Henderson who gave stereoids to a Queens’ NH horse, Charles Byrnes who left a horse unattended, Jim Bolger who tells us something is badly wrong with Irish Racing, probably some female ex-lover who posted this photograph….. None of them works for above mentioned organisations, they’re all within Horse Racing. It’s more like an inside job, isn’t it?
It’s not the “bad” world outside…..
March 1, 2021 at 12:54 #1526112I feel this case still has a few twists and turns yet so ill refrain from commenting until further evidence arises.
March 1, 2021 at 12:56 #1526113Frankly abhorrent behaviour. God alone knows what damage this will do to the image of racing.
I have no time for Betfair , but at least they have diched him as their “ambassador”.
He needs a hefty ban , and a large amount of personal soul searching. His “explanation” , if anything , is making matters worse.March 1, 2021 at 12:59 #1526114March 1, 2021 at 13:00 #1526116“What would Jim Bolger add to this matter”?
Told you so?
Value Is EverythingMarch 1, 2021 at 13:05 #1526117Claiming a trainer runs horses into the ground and that he has a welfare issue and should be investigated are so far off topic ginge its ridiculous to even suggest its not, stop talking more nonsense.
The issue at hand is the picture, that is all
Not where and when he runs his horses
Not what he does in his spare time with employees either
March 1, 2021 at 13:06 #1526118Hope the IHRB make their official announcement soon as I can’t see Cheveley Park park stud wanting to waste too much time before the Festival to settle their horses into other yards and particularly Envoi Allen who is their Flag bearer for the Festival and for their organisation in general on the NH side they already have Allaho with Mullins so why not Envoi Allen.
Elliott has let everyone who loves and cares about horses and the sport down badly. I can’t get this image out of my head at the moment it saddens and upsets me that he even considered climbing on top of that horse even though it had sadly died he gave not a thought for the owners who had entrusted this horse into his care a selfish, ill thought and apathetic action that must surely herald the end of his career.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 1, 2021 at 13:08 #1526119Good to see the BHA are thinking of their own punishment.
Value Is EverythingMarch 1, 2021 at 13:11 #1526120Do not know how to link from Twitter but Chapman was on SSR speculating that BHA will not allow Elliott to have any runners at Cheltenham.
If that happens, it must lead to a mass exodus from Elliott’s yard.
March 1, 2021 at 13:16 #1526122The BHA could easily stop him from having runners at the Festival. Who would care about Gigginstown sticking to him?
March 1, 2021 at 13:21 #1526123A reprehensible act, but if Elliot is punished, what about Sheikh Mo? His behaviour is much more serious, but maybe he is too big to confront?
March 1, 2021 at 13:21 #1526124March 1, 2021 at 13:29 #1526125Cork, Matt Chapman said the BHA may not wish him to have runners at Cheltenham as they are allowed to have their own sanctions separate from the Irish authorities. He didn’t actually say he will not have runners.
