“Trained in Lambourn, a winner at Perth…delicious irony”.
Let’s hope they planted a tree to offset it.

Only a month until the great annual Glastonbury hypocrisy as well..
May 17, 2025 at 12:38 #1730643You can absolutely guarantee it is either cost-cutting or some misguided PR initiative, possibly linked to them being awarded a ‘green’ accreditation if some sort.
You do wonder with pricing, food and drink costs and initiatives like these that they are almost actively discouraging customers.
May 17, 2025 at 12:48 #1730650Carbon zero and carbon footprint is a modern day farce. I worked for a company that achieved carbon zero and it was laughable and achieved through a box ticking exercise which nobody checked you just paid a tidy fee.
The more I know the less I understand.

May 17, 2025 at 12:54 #173065559 quid to get into Cartmel !!! Is that standard Tatts kind of enclosure or some kind of premium entry , 59 quid for summer jumps card thats seriously steep .
May 17, 2025 at 13:03 #1730662Checking the Cartmel website, there is a concert after racing that day, hence the steep price. Same as Aintree last night.
I can see the attraction for Cartmel. I expect costs a lot more than £59 to see Olly Murs in a normal concert venue. They know it will be a sell out and the bars and food outlets will do great business as well.
Not much consolation for anyone who only wants to watch some horse racing.

You can always guarantee someone is making money out of these ideas.
In other news, since becoming our latest distinguished Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer has taken domestic flights worth £102,000. Presumably in those special aircraft that are powered by batteries rather than that nasty aviation fuel.

I will start taking this seriously when the people who lecture us start practicing what they preach.
