Well Tommo was ‘not messing around’ today with his two tips for TalkSport:

Pharaohs Queen 2nd 7/1Well done big fella

..or whoever makes the selections for him.
November 19, 2007 at 18:24 #125733your damned if you do…your damned if you don’t…
November 19, 2007 at 18:47 #125735He’s watchable, but you have to cringe thoughout.
November 22, 2007 at 14:02 #126262My favourite Thommo moment was when he was calling a race at Redcar (or could have Newcastle) for C4 and a bemused old man ducked under the rails and started to very slowly walk across the course in front of the advancing group of runners.
Thommo said something like "What’s that Old Codger doing? He’s gonna get…Oh, that was close" as the man realised the danger at the last moment and took evasive action.
Could have been a tragic incident but luckily all ended well.

Yes, I often wonder how the good Lord Oaksey is doing these days.

November 22, 2007 at 14:43 #126271November 22, 2007 at 15:22 #126275I’m presuming (as I can’t view it at work) that the link is to the infamous race in the fog.
Was anyone unlucky enough to hear his ‘commentary’ on the recent North v South jockeys footy match highlights on ATR.
Made his race commentaries appear good.November 22, 2007 at 17:55 #126293"there’s a light on…"
Classic.

That clip is magic, Thommo at his best
November 23, 2007 at 00:30 #126360I refuse to believe Alan Partridge is based on anyone else…
November 23, 2007 at 09:18 #126373Nothing like as amusing, but Richard Hoiles has a better stab at a fog bound commentary – at least he admits in commentary that he is scraping the barrel.

LOL, that was funny! and so good to see people being nice… ok maybe not nice but ‘ok-ish’ about him haha.
Tommo is a legend! Know so many people slate him but as a racing personality you don’t get much better, it’d be so boring without him.Rock on tommo
