Been a great read Gord/TAPK/Kingfisher. Good to see it end profitably. Is it £2500 profit with Tidal Bay added? Turning back the Tide like King…
Any idea how much money was staked on this thread?Ironic, your last bet (win) being.
Camelot
A fitting place for one King to die and another’s reincarnation.
Good luck for the future TAPK
Ginge/Mark
Very good Ginge! Cheers! It was always the plan to finish with
Camelot
,that way I was always guaranteed a profit!
May 5, 2012 at 14:23 #403148My last wager on the flat of 2011 has gone on
Camelot
,not to win the Derby because he wont but to win the 2012 2000gns,what has convinced me he will go the Guineas/Derby? route is that the very same connections sent
St Nicholas Abbey
to Newmarket after winning the Racing Post Trophy and i’m convinced this fellow who just floats across the ground will have the speed to win the 2000gns.Ladbrokes gave me 6/1 today,he’s half that price with others and is the same 3/1 for The Derby, way too short for a horse who really isn’t guaranteed to get the trip.I know i couldn’t tip a Wheelbarrow at the moment but come Guineas day we’ll be back in profit after a successful Jumps season! Confidence is King and that eh!
Camelot
£500 win 6/1 Ladbrokes 2000gns 2012.
Heart in mouth for a moment but the result went the right way!
A fine end to another fantastic year ‘The Ante-Post King’ Rules still!May 5, 2012 at 15:01 #403155Many congrats again, superb way to end! Excellent ride from young O’Brien again.
May 5, 2012 at 15:55 #403164No question GDC,Joseph is as cool as me! (my voice is hoarse)! What made ‘Gone Fishing’ so unique was the fact that I’m not afraid to make myself look a right dick. The thread started very well going £10k up in a matter of weeks, thanks to Royal Ascot, the 2nd best festival of the year and one I target. I subsequently went on to lose a further £20k in a 6 month period,I did actually win £3k on both ‘Pastoral Player’ and ‘Zuider Zee’ in that period but because they weren’t posted they didn’t count, that would be the point when ‘some’ would call it a day thinking Sh*t,I look a right LOSER,nah I was always confident I would turn it round as I have Confidence in myself and as I keep saying lose that and you are stuffed.Cheltenham brought another £10k back and again the reason being its the best racing in the world and a festival I target for 365 days a year,If I only bet in those 2 festivals every year I’d be rich! Anyway thats it Mission Accomplished, well I really wanted to get back to £10k to be honest but
Fury
hasn’t quite lived up to expectations!
Thanks again to all who read it and to those who contributed its been a Challenge!June 1, 2012 at 20:58 #406323Gord
How you think BORN TO SEA will do next year
And any 2yo fillies you like who next year will be become stars my maiden winnners are below.
WAS
THE FUGUEDarren,this
Born to Sea
is a who’s who of horses, not only is he impeccably bred but he does look the part too.Normally you would be concerned about a 6-7f 2yo getting a 11/2m at 3yo but this fellow has so much classy stamina in his breeding i would expect him to turn up at Epsom.I do think 20/1 is generous.
Was
will be stuck between a rock and a hard place imo as far as trip goes,
Galileo
out of a
Green Desert
mare who had no stamina.
The Fugue
on the other hand looks the better Oaks filly,i like the connections, did you see her Newmarket maiden,i thought there was plenty improvement in her to come.
My filly for next year Darren is calledWading
,i have had my biggest bet ever on her for the 1000 gns at 12/1,dont give me the ‘Montjeu’ wont win a Guineas theory either as he will have 2 next year (Camelot) 2000gns.Enough said!
Looks like there’s 2 ‘Ante-Post Kings’ eh darren? This was your post from last year when discussing your 1st and 3rd placed Oaks horses! Brilliant foresight mate!
