Haven’t seen the Loch Lomond field or market yet, but have an eye out for Andres Romero. Finished T2 last year, and has been solid (if distinctly unspectacular in places) this season. Never outside the top 35, with 3/8 top 10’s along the way. Will be a big price.
Friggo,
Was he the guy who had the hole in one on Thursday? I was very impressed with him. When he struck that tee shot he was playing terrible and was 5 over. Sometimes a hole in one can throw your concentration, but this guy went from 5 over to finishing the tournament at 3 under, very imessive when you think that the first round lead of 6 under, only progressed to a winning score of 11 under.
Now I must go and look at the Loch Lomonde field lol.

To be honest, I don’t know if he was the guy who got an ace. The rest of what you say is accurate though, so I’d assume that he did get a hole in one.
Just on a side not WRT Mr Romero, when I got into work this morning he was 66/1 for the Scottish. By the time I left he was 33/1. There’s obviously been a fair bit of money for him today. It’s not often you see a golfer half in price on a Tuesday!
July 11, 2007 at 11:18 #107309You can still get 55’s if you want Friggo. I’ve always considered Loch Lomond to be a fair neat course which suits players like Donald, Immelman, Garcia and Olazabal. It won’t punish players to much if they don’t strike the ball that accurately. GIR and good putting could be the key to wiining. Goosen may do well.
I’ve decided to bet on Donald as he’s got a good record here even though his recent form is nothing special. My main bet will be on Jimenez who played well in Austria recently and also at Wentworth. He’s finished in the top ten during his last couple of visits to Loch Lomond and can be a very good player when he gets his putting right. I’ll also bet on Immelman who has the game to win this but is recovering from a virus that he caught at the Masters. I’ll go for J M SIngh as well as he must be due to play well in a tournament soon.
In the low profile John Deere on the pga circuit, I’ve bet on Kim and Snedeker who are both young rookies who have played well this season and this tournament is sometimes won by promising young golfers. I’ll also bet on Glover as he’s improved lately.
April 14, 2008 at 00:02 #157712A golfer for the future is Trevor Immelman, a young (26)South African who plays mainly on the US PGA tour but is over here this weekend playing in the BMW at Wentworth. Not sure about this weekend (his first tournament of the season in Europe I believe) but this guy will definitely win a major or three before too long.
Sorry it took nearly two years for this tip to come good!
April 14, 2008 at 06:48 #157723Hi Librettist, most things are worth waiting for just hoping that you have made a good profit from it and have managed to get your stakes back from all the previous times you may have backed him .
Cheers.
Adrian.

Funnily enough he had a string of placed efforts to his name after leading so made a bit laying at short odds in the past!
