Get in!
BUY THE SUN
March 19, 2022 at 11:51 #1588912Tatling Mike had copyrighted ” Get in ” …expect a letter from his lawyer forthwith
March 19, 2022 at 12:28 #1588932“Doesn’t have much for the Gold Cup (yet).”
You are forgetting Monkfish, Ginger. If he makes a full recovery from his injury, he is a serious contender.
March 19, 2022 at 12:31 #1588936Ssshhh CAS , everyone has forgotten him , 16s/20s nudge nudge wink wink …you know it makes sense
March 19, 2022 at 13:10 #1588952Backing horses who have had long lay offs ante post is a fast way to lose money
March 19, 2022 at 13:10 #1588953That 16/1 is far too tempting, HDLG!
March 19, 2022 at 13:13 #1588954FF maybe but if someone offered you 16s after last years festival would you take it …Native River won a GC after a layoff for a tendon
March 19, 2022 at 13:27 #1588962I was on at 14s and it lost because he got injured and missed the entire season
Id need to see him run twice to believe he will actually turn up now
I made the mistake of backing Topofthegame after his first missed season and won’t do the same again
March 19, 2022 at 13:39 #1588965Is Nicholls going to get him back ? , another forgotten horse , playing antepost your always going to get burnt but when u get one in …

Not forgetting him at all, CAS.
Just that when a horse is coming back from serious injury it’s not there yet, hence…“Doesn’t have much for the Gold Cup (yet).”
Backing anything ante-post that’s coming back from serious injury is a massive no-no for me whatever the price. Because obviously the chance of getting a run is always a massive part of the price bookmakers offer. So there is absolutely no knowing if the price is value or not. Monkfish @ 16/1 might look tempting, but if there is little or no chance of being fit then he ain’t value. Not saying there is little or no chance, just that we don’t know how likely he is of running so impossible to come to a worthwhile opinion.
What price would Monkfish be NRNB?
Value Is EverythingMarch 19, 2022 at 15:02 #1588982A Monkfish antepost bet this far out not for me. Not only will he be up against some promising and already quality horses, i can’t recall a horse winning a Gold Cup after a year off injured.
March 19, 2022 at 15:16 #1588984Coneygree had much more than a year off – January 2013 to November 2014 (671 days) – before his Gold Cup winning season, Mike.
Value Is EverythingMarch 19, 2022 at 15:34 #1588989Hadn’t realised he had that time off the season before. Thanks for the info.
March 19, 2022 at 15:37 #1588991Native had a long layoff to Mike , Monkfish is young enough to come back
March 20, 2022 at 06:47 #1589058I suppose Galopin Des Champs next start will be at Punchestown but I would really like to see him at Aintree. He would be a spectacular sight jumping and galloping around the Mildmay course.
I suppose it is too close to Punchestown this year but it is not as if he has had a hard season. Prior to Cheltenham he only ran twice and both times it was little more than an exercise gallop.
October 14, 2022 at 10:52 #1618367I’ve chipped away on Constitution Hill for far too long now
Galopin Des Champs is my now go to bet.Blackbeard to conquer the World
October 17, 2022 at 11:15 #1618874I watched his fairyhouse win again this morning
He just looks like a galloping machine
Townend couldn’t get him to pull up after the race he just wanted to keep going
Just wish the price wasn’t so skinny
At 5/1-6/1 I’d be much more inclined to back him
7/2 doesn’t look to have any value
