He might well get the distance but the flaw is the jumping and the fact he still hasn’t been in the hustle and bustle of a big field
February 5, 2023 at 17:24 #1634128I’ve posted thoughts on Vega in the Tattersalls Novice Hurdle thread just now HDLG
“Adding more on Facile Vega, Mullins said: “We’ll go to Cheltenham. High Definition’s jumping was always suspect and I think Paul didn’t want him in front of him.
“You saw what happened with Lossiemouth yesterday and Paul just had that in the back of his mind going out today.
“All our horses are well entered up and Il Etait Temps will be in the Ballymore as well.””
Blackbeard to conquer the World
February 6, 2023 at 22:06 #1634283The above comments about lossiemouth and Facile Vega, I was worried about GDC being behind a wall of horses at times during the Irish Gold Cup. Only takes a Ahoy Senior to jump across him.
I like BMG, 33/1 Im happy with that (placed after his Aintree failure)..I do like his low slick jumping, yes Cheltenham over 3 miles +..could find him.
I did lump on Lord Windamere to win the Gold Cup after he won the RSA…At the time I was just happy to see him line up..Below par Gold Cup..yea..but I won
February 6, 2023 at 22:10 #1634285Mike meet landafar. Landafar meet Mike.
Have the two ever been spotted together?
February 6, 2023 at 22:14 #1634286This is all a bit too “Michael and La Toya Jackson” for Chezza – that said, TC is NEVER wrong, and if Landafar starts posting “Get in!” the body of evidence will only grow!

Im lost with this…
In my first post I did say be gentle with me and now Im thrown to the ”Mike”..
February 7, 2023 at 20:33 #1634431Apologies, Landafar, just ignore me – everyone else does (or tries to).
Conflated could turn out the biggest danger to Galopin Des Champs if, that is, his trainer doesn’t use him as a sofa in the interim.

Take it as a compliment ;o)
February 7, 2023 at 21:52 #1634455The word on the street is Landafar just cashed out of being accused of being a Mike clone – “Get in!”

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 8, 2023 at 14:10 #1634561I’m tearing my hair out trying to work this race out, usually have my colours nailed to the mast by the turn of the year but that went by the wayside when LHP was scratched.
Galopin far too short.
BMG/Ahoy Senor/Noble Yeats/Sounds Russian all beating each other.
A Plus Tard has had a terrible prep.
Protektorat is inconsistent and not quite sure how he has achieved his lofty rating of 170.
Minella Indo has all the stats against him.
Stattler thumped by GDC over fences and hurdles.
God knows what to make of Hewick and Conflated.
The big outsiders don’t make much appeal either.
My brain hurts
February 8, 2023 at 14:41 #1634572Moyenne just back GDC on the day if you want. I think the bookies may push his odds out.
February 8, 2023 at 14:51 #1634576The most solid piece of form is unquestionably BMG still cantering all over L’homme presse when that lad came down 2 out at kempton. That’s not even up for debate.
If you want to believe some old wives tale about horses not performing in certain months of the year then more the fool you!
He might not win, but he’s the most sensible bet.

Would be a far more sensible bet if you thought he might win ;o)

A line through Eldorado Allen to Bravemansgame may prove instructive, sir.
“old wives tale”
“Older,” NOT “old,” if you don’t mind, and Chezza is definitely no one’s wife!
It’s a shame Bravemansgame gets anorexia nervosa, loses weight, can’t go a yard after 1st March and hates Cheltenham to boot – he’d have a bit of a chance but for those impediments.

Yes of course, which does nothing but highlight the flaws within the rating system.
Let me put it another way:
If Protektorat, who has won a massive two of his last 13 races, is legitimately a 170+ rated chaser then I’m a hot scotch egg.
