Cue card has been kicked out of the Tizzard stables today, that means the number 1 stable is vacant.

Rumours are abound that it is the legend Elegant Escape who is Moving in.

Elegant Escape will need to improve his jumping if he’s to run well in a Grand National. But – unless heavy going puts a far greater emphasis on stamina – doesn’t have the speed for a Gold Cup. Scottish GN or Bet365 would be other alternatives for EE. Hope Native River might take his chance in the Aintree showpiece in 2020 (might even get away without being topweight). Not that I’ll be backing him ante-post – fed up with losing money on Tizzard GN hopefuls.

The elbow and the legend simply would not mix.

Imagine the big beast elegant escape having to slow down into the elbow then hop over, then come to almost a complete stop as he has to quickly change direction and start running again.

A small horse like Tiger Roll is taking at least 15 lengths a time from the beast so twice at the elbow would mean 30 lengths plus given to a nipper smaller horse.

A big beast is never going to show his best in the national these days.

It’s all irrelevant anyway as the legend will not go to the grand national next season.

I presume you mean the Canal Turn potato. If EE slowed down he would be walking ;-)
