That was my first thought but then realised Schofield would probably ride Teaforthree

You could be right, I suppose it will come down to who Nicholls thinks will be suited by which horse. Teaforthree is favourite, although I would have Tidal Bay before him every time for the National. Ryan Mahon might come into the equation, although it could be that one of the big boys might become available if something at the head of the market pulls out. He might just wait and see. An interesting conundrum
March 18, 2014 at 14:41 #472410Just a follow on from my last post, it seems there are rumblings that On His Own might be kept for Punchestown now. If that is the case, McCoy could be left with Colbert Station if McManus decides to run him, but I would imagine he would much rather have a leg up on Tidal Bay. I think I’ll start the rumour

Yes, not quite sure how I managed to mix up On His Own and
Triolo D’Alene. I’m going to put that one down to a senior moment. It was all so clear in my head, but just in my head……oops

No, Geraghty will be on Triolo. AP on one of the umpteen McManus horses. Possibly APs last National

So don't run, just like the others always do
March 19, 2014 at 11:58 #472523D’you think that by deserting T43 in the Gold Cup McCoy has given up the chance to go out in a blaze of glory [given that JP would let him switch to another horse if he felt he stood a good chance of winning]?
March 19, 2014 at 12:40 #472526If you think he is to retire at the end of the season then yes. Wouldn’t be too surprised if he did, but given the nature of the man, wouldn’t be surprised if he was booting in the winners in 5 years time either. Obviously the events of the last two weeks may lean him towards the former.
