Jac, I just looked at the table and you have diddled yourself out of a place. I’m sure you are in 53rd. Well done getting that high and a shame no bonus race as you may have had a good chance of finishing even higher.

March 27, 2021 at 23:49 #1533066You’re right Nathan I am 53rd
I just didn’t get my wish and make it onto Page 1 but didn’t we all do well gaining so many points on the last day and well done for getting into the Top 100 Club 84th is fantastic, if only we had just one more week and a Bonus Race we could have been off to next years Dubai Cup.Tonge that was a great play with the Swaps, I don’t think I would be brave enough to play it but well done for getting into the Top 200 along with John Gooch and Andre (Euro) and I think Graham has come home in 90th looking down the scores and he played a blinder this competition in fact we all have great scores and next time we’ll be even better.

I will update the Final Scoreboard over the weekend just to see how much we moved up the scoreboard on the Final Day.
I’ve enjoyed the competition and your company…Jac
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 28, 2021 at 02:39 #15330755580 points rank 420 did better then I thought I would, really enjoyed the competition well done to everyone taking part, excellent from jac thanx for running it
March 28, 2021 at 03:07 #1533076A bit up and down today but more than happy with my overall
resultPoints today 1200
Total Points 8390
Position 90I’ll wait till all the scores are in, but 53rd position in the competition,
with over 3,000 stables is a magnificent effort Jac
I see Nathan mugged me in the last furlong, well done mate top 100 is
quite a feat. As I said I wont jump the gun before all the scores are
in, but I think as a team we did pretty damned good and had there been
a league of leagues, I think we would have been right up there.I’ll get back when the scoreboard is sorted but have to say thanks to
Jac for introducing this thread, it’s been a ball
March 28, 2021 at 10:08 #1533093Thanks Graham & SS I’m over the moon with that final finishing position
I think the main thing to take out of this competition is how much we all enjoyed it and how it could have all changed on the final day because between myself, Nathan and Graham (BigG) it came down to choices in the end and dare I say the lack of Bonus Points..I can hear John shouting out for that one.
.Not sure if the sparkle went out of it for the Godolphin comp organisers online because of Sheikh Hamdam’s passing but I don’t think Sheikh Mohamned attended yesterday..Please correct me if I’m wrong. The Dubai World Cup Finally itself was delayed twice as Frankie’s mount Great Scot did a runner and then my AP horse Military Law who had been the perfect gent all day decided he wanted an early start and ducked under the stalls and went off like a bullet down the track.
Thankfully both horses were caught safely. The day had a sad postnote to it when Zenden winner of the Golden Shaheen went badly wrong after the post throwing his jockey to the ground as horses were still finishing. Thankfully the jockey was unscathed but Zenden sadly lost his life.⚘
Will update once all the scores are in and big thanks to all players for a great effort.

Thanks for running this competition Jac, I really enjoyed taking part!
Well done to everyone on some great scores, especially Jac, Nathan and Big G on getting inside the top 100!
March 29, 2021 at 00:48 #1533198Thanks Mincamus I love the Godolphin horses and the competition was very exciting.
I’ve updated your score and well done for scoring max points on the final day 215th is a great score.

JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 29, 2021 at 01:49 #1533199Congratulations Jac a top 50 finish is awesome
This is definitely one of the competitions that I’m
looking forward to each year, I hope they keep it running
and I hope they get a league of leagues added to it,Well played Nathan, a top 100 is a great finish, Im chuffed to
get into that too. I think it was a great effort by the whole team,
I think we’ve all got the hang of it now and next year I’m routing
for 1 of us to win it
Thanks for all the time and effort Jac, it’s a great thread to put
up your fancies or just to drop in for a natter.
March 29, 2021 at 09:14 #1533206Thank you Graham
I really thought it would be yourself or Nathan winning this year but I got very lucky with Bonus points in one race and Rebel’s Romance and Mystic Guide sealed it for me on the day.
I worked out that if I had included Magny Couers in the last who came 3rd for an extra 300 points I would have ended up in 33rd position with 9050 points that is something to aim for next time and as you say would love to see one of us win this next year..no pressure folks!!

Hope to keep Meydan Thursdays (DL&P’s) up and running throughout the rest of the year for keeping tabs on the Godolphin horses as they campaign in Europe and the UK and for discussing racing and our fancies in general..so look forward to seeing you all there.
JacThings turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 29, 2021 at 14:12 #1533228Hello to all
I would just like to add my congratulations to Jac and Nathan for
finishing in the top 100. Jac thanks for your many posts and helpful
advice to other entries. Good to hear that you are going to keep the
Maydan Thursday thread going. I have enjpyed the last three months or
so as much for the interaction as the racing itself.Let us all hope that the spring and summer will see a change for the better
in all our fortunes and mixing with other people will again become safe and
normal.Once again thank you to everybody
John
March 29, 2021 at 19:30 #1533262So glad you have enjoyed the competition John and the banter on Meydan Thursdays..it really helped us to get through some difficult and frustrating months in our lives and it’s a very open to all Thread so if you have a particular horse that you fancy and want to share it come and post it up on Meydan Thursdays.

Look forward to seeing you back here next year John and I think you will be further up the Leaderboard next time as the complex rules sink in.
I think this is actually the first year I have come to grips with it fully and it’s certainly the closest I’ve been to the top and as Graham said hopefully one of us can win it in 2022 and if they do introduce Leagues what a Team we would have.
Enjoy tbe flat season John and it’s been a pleasure to have you as a player..Jac
