Thanks Trying,
Depends on the race. In a small field affair where I know the horses concerned (eg a Group 1) – can be under 10 minutes. In a 16 runner handicap where I don’t know much about the runners (before form study) can be an hour or more. For a 30 runner big handicap it can occasionally stretch to 2 hours, which is why I seldom do that type of race these days.Value Is EverythingApril 27, 2015 at 12:53 #9228762015 Flat Season

(I’ll transfer my 2000 Guineas ante-post bet on Estidkaar over to here).I see I stopped last season before backing Estidkhaar. So I’ll put a bet up now:

18 points each way @ 20/1 (PP) Jellicle Ball* (min 14/1)Jellicle Ball has not been backed in as much as I’d have thought, especially with question marks surrounding the participation of Found. May be the Gosden filly is doubtful too and particularly the place bet. So to get a free place bet:
LAY 18 points @ 3.3/1 PLACE (Betfair) Jellicle Ball (min 4/1) (£40 available)

Was going to put up a lay in the win market but you’d have to go to 16.5/1 for that and it is better value to put another saver (for the sake of the horse running) on the place market. Can always return and back it for a place if she runs.
A further:

That’ll do for starters.

More Pressure? Another follower is never a bad thing.
It has been a “great start” David, doubt it will continue quite as well, but I’ve really got my mojo back for gambling/”investing”. Had an awful Royal Ascot last year and it dented my confidence. Enjoying studying again.
Not sure I should say this (aftertiming) had a bet taken overnight for Second Step @ 10.5/1 too (shortened before I could put it up as a bet. Cumani is (unusually for this time of year) in cracking form.
Estidkhaar ran poorly in the Guineas, may be he does not like Newmarket? Never moving/travelling with usual fluency? Also ran poorly in Dewhurst. Gleneagles looked opposable on “form”/price but Jim McGrath made an important point that he’d idled in front at two, therefore better than could be rated. Territories ran well, beaten by a better horse.
Hopefully Rocky Rider or Azmaam will finish the day as it started.
