I forgot I had created a profile on this site, however, just popped on to say I’ve loved your Cheltenham posts this week. I mostly bet on golf and sometimes dabble in horse racing. I use similar methods to you-i.e make my own tissue and then back what I perceive as value and happy to Dutch bets. On a number of occasions this week, my value bets have aligned with yours and this gave me confidence to stake my bets.
Anyway I’ve rumbled on a bit. Hope you keep posting selections as I love checking my selections against yours. It reinforces my position when our thoughts align.
Good luck!March 16, 2024 at 08:11 #168674913:50 Uttoxeter:

(6.0%) £67 @ 9/2 (Unibet) One Eye On Vegas (min 9/2)Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2024 at 09:05 #1686770Thanks TheNovice, good to here from someone with a similar outlook, particularly a new TRFer! Golf is a sport I know nothing about although I loved watching the Ryder Cup before it was moved to Sky.
I used to post bets up on here regularly a few years ago (some threads over 100 pages long) but gave up because I needed to donate so much time to doing my old house and garden up before selling. (Although in the end I don’t think it influenced the buyer at all as he’s completely renovated and extended the house and bulldozed the garden. Now on the market for double what I got)! Anyway, I digress…
Also needed to do a few things to my new property. So didn’t have the time to study. Gave up my Timeform Race Passes and racing channel subscriptions. Have also now got my Racing mojo back – although with the Mullins and Coolmore dominance it is still not what it was.
Did most of the ante-post stuff without the use of Timeform, but resubscribed to them a couple of days before Cheltenham. Been a Timeform fan since the 1980s. Not sure at the moment if I’ll get the RUK and Sky back though, as I do now need to donate a bit of time to my girlfriend LOL. So it will be mainly bets on the stuff on ITV Racing. Am a bit of an elitist when it comes to Racing anyway, the race above is the first grade 3 I’ve bet for many years! In the short time I’ve not been gambling it may have changed, so am betting a little cautiously.
Sorry the posts are a bit messy, going changes mean I’ve needed to reassess the races.
Glad you’re enjoying the thread, it’s a good start but plenty of time for things to go wrong.Welcome to theracingforum TheNovice.

£15 @ 6.4 (betfair £70 available) Iron Bridge (min 9/2)Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2024 at 11:03 #1686906Thanks GT. I have the same issues with my other half :). It takes a few hours to go over stats and odds for every golf tournament so my better half is often left alone watching tv on a Monday night. A few winners help though.
I do dabble in the horses and also use Timeform. There’s not a better feeling than pricing up an event and seeing something priced up wrongly (in your opinion) by the bookies. Although, it then requires another look over to see what’s I’ve missed.
I understand the multiple selections and changes this week with the going. It’s all about getting value in the long term.
Anyway apologies for messing up your thread and keep the selections coming 👍March 16, 2024 at 11:08 #168690914:45 Kempton:

I always used to love beating the bookies, now (although I’ll often quote a bookies price on here if similar to betfair and / or when liquidity is poor on betfair) the vast majority of my bets are with the exchange these days.Value Is EverythingMarch 16, 2024 at 11:38 #1686919“14:45 Kempton:
