28 points @ 15/8 (L) DundonnellDundonnell is my main bet today Ginge, big drop in class, drop in trip to 7f sure to suit also. A return to last seasons form should see him win this. 2/1 this morning is a nice price.

Dundonnell was my first ante-post bet for the 2000 Guineas Pants, so have had a high opinion of his ability. Agree, drop to 7f should suit, but (on what he’s done) in my opinion was not as good value as Baltic Knight and Supernova Heights. Two things that concern me about Dundonnell. Trainer form, Charlton is yet to hit top form; and there doesn’t look much pace in the race. Being a hold up horse may be in the wrong position in a tactical battle where Baltic Knight is dictating from the front. Although even so, Dundonnell still has the best chance of winning.
Supernova Heights was massively over-priced at 20/1, the same things concern me about Meehan as Charlton and again usually a hold up horse but can race nearer the head, am hoping his rider has learnt and keeps him closer today (although can pull).Value Is EverythingMay 18, 2013 at 10:05 #4399342:05 Newbury

Again Pants, I think Gallipot ghas the best chance of winning. Thought I had put the bet up last night but obviously only did it in the competition thread and misses the bigger price.
Despite her size improved all season last year. Gosden looks to be coming to form too. Definitely has a better chance than Jahannedarc. However The slightly longer trip and likelyhood of stronger pace than Newmarket may well be in the ex-French horse’s favour.
On form Harris Tweed is best, I backed him last year for this, but he’s shown all his best form when able to lead. Chiberta King invariably goes from the front too and Saint Hilary pushes the pace. So Harris Tweed by no means certain to get his own way. Haggas is one of my favourite trainers, but not had his usual strike rate recently. So want to be against him.
Bin Surror had his first winner last night, but plenty have run poorly so not Willing to back him.
Viking Storm has good form in handicaps for under-rated trainer Harry Dunlop who’s in very good form. Still has a bit to find but the pace of the race might suit and pick them up late. 9/1 was too big (imo).Good luck Pants!
