Well Ben, Sorry if I talked you out of that one. I was in Ladbrokes when they announced a lock in price on Al Kazeem of 7/2 that would be good until 10 grand was laid. That looked a bad sign but the money did eventually come for him. I thought Tommy Chip was travelling as well, if not slightly better than the winner at one stage but he took too long to pick up, although his turn surely awaits. I thought I was going to cover myself with Same Difference in the old Whitbread race but despite Twiston-Davies looking between his legs as if he was sure he had the leader covered, it wasn’t to be as the eventual winner found more gamely. To complete a blank day for me, Minella Forfitness was pumped by a 22/1 shot. Close but no cigar, hope yours do better for you.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
April 27, 2013 at 17:31 #437654I totally agree with you Steve that
Al Kazeem
has got to be taken on at the prices. I don’t even make him favourite, or secod fav, or third fav! Despite winning on reappearance last year (for which I backed him @ double the SP if I remember rightly) the fractured pelvis and trainer form make my price to beat tomorrow 9/2! May be that will come back to haunt me, because on the Jockey Club run would have the beating of these.
Al kazeem’s crazy price makes three others value.
Oops!
Can only echo Steve’s comment Ben, hope I didn’t put you off Al Kazeem. Got that a bit wrong.Winner could develop in to a Group 1 animal.

Don’t be silly guys never apologize for giving advice, at the end of the day that race was incredibly tricky and it was a pretty good days racing with some close finishes in there and some nice looking prospects too. The Al Kazeem race was exciting and a few from that race could be real talents this season. my only winner of the day was Ptit Zig who’s looking strong for next year.
On another note, I did manage to get myself some tv time, I’ve even cropped it a little so you can see my lovely mug close up

17 points @ 25/1 (L) Moohaajim*
30 points @ 5/1 (WH) Toronado* (min 9/2)If you haven’t backed these two yet I suggest backing Moohaajim each way and use the possible place profit for a bet on Toronado.
Or Back both to win but… put a saver LAY on Moohaajim on the in running market at around 4/1. He’ll probably be moving very well two out and not get home.
