Value Is EverythingMay 21, 2014 at 22:59 #479723Leading Light was my banker today. Tipped up last night at 15/8.
A group 1 winner in a group 3 race with the main opposition only a listed winner.
It looked one of those rare occasions where class was the simple answer to the puzzle.
He’s as low as 7/4 for Ascot now but I won’t touch him at those odds. Estimate is out to a worrying 7/1.
Belated well done with Leading Light Steve, very worthy favourite for the Gold Cup now, agreed 7/4 is too short. Then again, wouldn’t want to lay him at that price either.
Value Is EverythingMay 21, 2014 at 23:01 #479724Oh and by the way
Tiger cliff
is next years ‘Supreme’ winner.
If Tiger Cliff wins or even places in the Gold Cup can’t see him going hurdling Gord.
Value Is EverythingMay 21, 2014 at 23:42 #479726Cheers Ginger, It was hardly the coup of the year picking Leading Light but Pale Mimosa didn’t go on the way I thought after her first run last year and at the odds of nearly 2/1 I thought the Leger winner was pretty good value.
You would think he has the class as long as he can make it tell for two and a half miles at Ascot. I’ll be hoping for some rain for Tac De Boistron to narrow the class difference.
I’ll be interested to see how Jordan Princess gets on with regards to the Taghrooda form. The first couple to run from the Pretty Polly did little to advertise the form but we’ll get a better idea from Cumani’s runner today I think. This Feedyah has been keeping decent company but was beaten a long way by Ihtimal. I am struggling to get excited about Psychometry at 3/1.
Good luck!
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Ran as though something amiss Steve. Too bad to be true. Still nothing has franked the Taghrooda form. May be it is not as good as I first thought.
Value Is EverythingMay 22, 2014 at 20:15 #479770Black Shadow got me out of trouble today.

Owned by Michael Tabor I think they had expected to win with him and he is a fantastic looker (Luck of the Game that is )
Running at Haydock in the 2.00 he’s very short around 13/8 but I think he’s going to win this one…
Parsley looks interesting in the 1st at Goodwood for Hannon as well.
I’ve done them separately and made up 2 x trebles with Observational and Barley Mow.Be Lucky

9 points @ 5/1 (L) Ashpan Sam (min 5/1)Found an angle in to this race by backing 5 horses in a 15 runner race, backing against those I believed were poor value because of ground conditions. Only for all the firm ground horses to be withdrawn this morning, leaving me with half the field including the top 4 in the betting!
Oh dear Gord, what have I done?!
