1st time poster putting together a stable for the competition with Hills, many others familiar with the competition?

have a few questions for the current season and the big races coming up.

    1. Is the great mare Quevega likely to have a run out before cheltenham?
    2. Would you consider Binocular a big hope for the Fighting Fifth and Christmas Hurdle?

    My current stable is:
Long Run (stable star although maybe go for Hurtricane fly instead)
    Big Bucks (banker)
Quevega (cheltenham banker but hoping for run out before then)
Aiteen thirtythree (pick for the Hennessy)
Finians rainbow (QM contender with Big Zeb and Sizing Europe a year older)
    Al ferof (solid cheltenham performer)
Binocular (fancy he will pick up a few wins as long as he stays clear of the Fly
    Fingal bay (top novice prospect)
Zarkandar (dark horse for Champion Hurdle)
    Bobs worth (RSA chance)

any thoughts/pointers would be greatly appreciated.

    1) Quevega probably won’t run before Cheltenham but she has an outstanding chance their and at Punchestown – would also double check the end date and criteria as they might take her to France at the end of May for a Grade 2 she’d have a chance in.

    2) Binocular has a cracking chance in the FF and Christmas Hurdle on flat tracks, whether he’s back to his best is another matter but with Peddlers Cross chasing, Grandouet winning yesterday, his stablemate (Spirit Son) not running until after Christmas there’s not a lot left (anyone know when Zarkandar is back?)

the competition with Hills sadly ends at Cheletenham but I may take Quevega anyway as it is a banker at the festival with bonus points on offer at cheltenham.

as for Zarkandar I read it might make an appearance at the Christmas Hurdle but most reports seem to be a reappearance early next year.

I have now had a rethink and I’m going to switch Long Run and possibly Zarkandar, going with Hurricane Fly and Quito De La Roque.

Am I right in thinking Quito should pick up a few wins before being a Gold Cup contender in March?

I want to get off to a good start so looking to have a winner or runner up in the Hennessy and Fighting Fifth (Aiteen thirtythree and Binocular)

that is an interesting lineup but a lot of them have other options. How would you see a Kauto Stone vs Quito De La Roque clash?

Theres a lot more to be seen and liked about Kauto Stone. Not this season though IMO.

I really like Kauto Stone he impressed me immensely and PN had no hesitation in entering him for this.

I suspect they are playing it low key at Ditchat and mouthings of lets not get carried away just yet will be coming from PN. I would suggest he’s regarded much higher than they are letting on and they fancy his chances of hitting the big time in this.

You’ve just listed the same selections of more than half of those who entered. To win a comp like Hill’s you got to have 2 or 3 dark horses that will come to the fore as the season progresses.
