I noticed that Lavender Moon was down to wear cheekpieces at Ripon today.
Does anyone know if they would be what we call winkers?

You’d get confused over here then KT – over here ‘winkers’ would be used to mean blinkers! Blinkers have all sorts of names – blinds, cups, descending to the slang descriptions such as Ray-Bans, winkers (a shortened version of ‘willy-winkers’).

    We declare the following:

    Blinkers
Visors – blinkers with a hole in the cup
Blinkers with one cup covered over
Eye shields – what the rest of the world call pacifiers
Cheek Pieces – sheepskin down the cheek pieces of the bridle
Hood – which cover the ears

In America they don’t understand the concept of visors and just call
    everything blinkers.
