Brilliant to see the reception for Bryony at Sandown yesterday, I hope those involved in the ridiculous out dated ‘weighing room culture’ actually take note and start to realise how out of touch they are.
Pleased to hear Paul Nicholls supportive comments yesterday and today on Luck On Sunday too.December 5, 2021 at 18:38 #1570894I wonder if Mullins gave her a ride as a gesture. Seems that way and if so that’s wonderful
December 5, 2021 at 19:13 #1570905I think you have something there Clive
Not sure where this will all end up
Currently looks bad for racing
December 5, 2021 at 19:17 #1570907Could be the owners rather than Mullins (though I’m sure that if he had any objections, it wouldn’t have happened).
December 5, 2021 at 20:44 #1570917Somebody said on another forum that she and Patrick are stepping out together. No idea if it’s true.
December 5, 2021 at 21:06 #1570923Ah interesting. Stepping out
Good old nepotism
She could be flying around fairyhouse one day
December 5, 2021 at 21:30 #1570934Stepping out , my gran God bless always asked me if I was ” courting ” , if it’s true could be interesting if Patrick and dunne ever bump into each other at the course one day ….
December 6, 2021 at 01:42 #1571002Normally abhore gossip but think they would make a great couple. She is bubbly and he is a lovely level headed guy. Probably crap of course but for once interesting.
December 6, 2021 at 21:31 #1571102Although Nicholls put in a good word for Bryony after the Tingle Creek it was hardly an all out supportive message to the nation, took me by surprise.
December 6, 2021 at 21:49 #1571104Even Nicholls realises he has to watch what he says due to racings old boy network. Was a very mealy mouthed piece to me anyway. All he had to say was he would give her all the support she needs. Simples.
December 6, 2021 at 22:14 #1571107I always get the impression that PN finds Bryony’s popularity irritating. But I could be wrong. The only jockey he’s ever eulogised over has been Ruby.
December 7, 2021 at 00:33 #1571127As I’ve previously been critical of Paul Nicholls for not saying much to support Bryony Frost in public, I will say that I was pleased he was more vocal last weekend. Better late than never and all that. I also wonder if he senses which way the wind is blowing on this subject.
I also agree with the posters above that he still sounded a little distant from it all, and as if it was nothing really to do with him. It certainly didn’t come across that he felt concerned that one of the Ditcheat “team” had been wronged.
December 7, 2021 at 07:14 #1571132Yes agree with above posts, I get the impression PN is exasperated and irritated about any media praise for Bryony and but at least on Saturday he did (finally) publicly make some supportive comments, still managed to say a few times though what good rides Harry Cobden had given other horses!
If gossip is true I think Bryony is much better suited with Patrick Mullins than HC, good luck to them!
December 7, 2021 at 15:21 #1571152A host of jockeys are set to give evidence for the defence this week including Tom Scu and Nico de Boinville.
December 7, 2021 at 16:37 #1571163Will be very interested to hear what Tom Scu and Richard Johnson have to say in particular. Dunne coming across very unconvincingly in the questioning about the Virtual Grand National.
December 7, 2021 at 16:43 #1571164Dunne’s testimony today about the Virtual Grand National tweet won’t do him any favours I expect!
December 7, 2021 at 17:47 #1571173Completely agree re the virtual National questioning. Dunne didn’t come across well.
I wonder if the jocks will be playing down the confrontations in the weighing room or backing Dunnes contention that Bryony is a dangerous rider.
