I’m happy to forgive Konfusion his fall last time, and still think he’s a really decent horse

Trying to keep it to one, but if I buckle, I’ll add Leave of Absence

    Topped up

    Konfusion EW5Pls/16’s

Brave Fortune for the win at 5-1, and it’s a bit of guesswork here, but at 40-1 ew I’ll go with In Love

Intrigued both Ain’t That A Shame and Stolen Silver are both non-runners. Both old boys had little chance but did someone have a word in the connections ears?

    WD Mike.
I wasn’t sure if Skelton had used up all his horses earlier in the season to secure the title early, but he’s got plenty left it seems.

Deep Cave, trained by Christian Williams, was something like a 7 or 8/1 chance on Friday night.

The horse drifted out to 18/1, ran like a drain and was pulled up.

Unless I have missed it, the stewards don’t seem to have even asked a question as to why the horse ran so badly after more than doubling in price.

Does anyone believe a horse from this stable would have run in such a manner if the money was down?

I have followed Deep Cave since I had him at 40s in the handicap hurdle on the same card last year but since his win in December his runs have been pretty poor. The last twice including this I haven’t even considered him so why his price shortened is a mystery maybe because he did win unexpectedly twelve months ago.

The more I know the less I understand.
