Backed this horse on his last two starts last season and also for the abandoned Aintree bumper. Convinced he would have gone very close at long odds at Newbury but for virtually running off the track. Looked to be an above average novice at Towcester today but thought there was at least a good chance of an each-way return so took the early 20’s with VC. Amazed that Sporting Odds were going 33’s so had another dabble. He had just taken control when failing to see a stride at the last and crashed out. This must be the absolute punting nightmare – you seemingly spot something others have missed and this happens. Everyone knows 33/1 winners do not come around all that often. Anyone got any similar sob stories to ease the pain?

I’ve been following Peter Bowen at Aintree for a while. At the last meeting he had 10 runners so I picked about 5 to back. Missed his 66/1 winner in the opener!
