Hi all, a bit off topic as not necessarily to do with horse racing but does anyone know if Frankie Dettori is going to take part in the next I’m a Celebrity get me out of here??
If so then i think would be brilliant for the sport. Hopefully would generate a bit more positive publicity for it and attract new racegoers/ watchers…

i think it could do the opposite, one of the best known and respected jockeys joining a bunch of desperate Z-listers to show themselves up in a format and environment that can hardly lead to anything except derision.

He surely can’t need the money or the (probably bad) publicity and there must be some godolphin horses to ride during that time?

Spread bet on how many women say the following

    1 Is he a Jockey

2 Has he ever won the Derby

3 Has he ever won the Grand National

4 Is he a flat or jump jockey

5 Blimey hes small aint he

    6 Is he Italian

    7 Whys he so short

8 Whys he talking in that funny accent

    9 Who is he

10 Is that Frankie Dettori real name Lanfranco who won the Derby last year for Peter Chappel Hyam on Authorised who ended up taking the scalp of Dylan Thomas in the International at York a few months later, And he is also best known for going through the card at Ascot in 1997 winning all 7 races including the Group One QEII Stakes on Mark of Esteem beating that high class filly Bosra Sham in the process and now homes Fujiyama Crest in his home in Newmarket after he bought him after the horse didnt take to jump racing, Fujiyama Crest who won the 2m Handicap making all the running at 3-1 fav even though his form was just a row of duck eggs but he battled on in the end and after the race Frankie sprayed the crowd in Champagne after what was one of the most emotional and amazing moments of his career in the plate.

2/1 Fav not 3/1. Wonder what price he would have been returned in this age of Betfair!

Heard a rumour only Pat Eddery was trying to beat Frankie in that 7th race. Allowed a very soft lead up front.

Or does that belong in another thread?
