And Canford Cliffs couldn’t even win his English Guineas

But a lot of water has passed under the bridge since then hasn’t it? Is it not conceivable then, that Frankel might also get better as this season goes on, just like CC did last year?

Brief note to SmugPunter – if they clash in the Sussex Stakes it will be a race to savour, one horse will not destroy the other. Unless you mean that an epic duel will leave an idelible mark on the abilities of the protagonists as happened after probably the best flat race ever when Grundy beat Bustino in the King George (if memory serves me right neither won another race).
Sadly (as you are wondering what all the fuss is about re Frankel) I fear that you mean it will be a really easy victory.
In that case, smell the coffee i.e. get real

There will be a lot to consider if they do meet, could be a tactical dream!

I would guess that based on today team Frankel wont be as keen to take up the running at such an early stage, if they do then they risk that late burst from Canford!

If there is a genuine pace setter in the race, it will be a spectical to see both horse coming late- who flinches first
