UNBELIEVABLE ! [/color:2thjbcxo]

Not only did they win the game and have now beaten France home and away but they are now top of the group with two home games from three left to play.
it really is an amazing and unbelievable result.
September 13, 2007 at 09:07 #114712Well done Scotland.
A truly remarkable effort against the World Cup finalists who had, until last night, lost only two of their previous forty-six home matches.
This was arguably the greatest result in their history – possibly alongside the 5-0 thrashing the "Wembley Wizards" handed out to England in 1928, when the home side were heavy favourites.

September 13, 2007 at 10:44 #114725It was a fantastic result. I was working and so missed it live, but from what I saw on the BBC highlights we defended superbly, not once did the French look like over-running us, even though they had really absurd amounts of attacking possession.
We now look in a really good position, cut to 6/4 from 11/4 by Hills to qualify. However, the last three matches all look extremely tough, as Ukraine will see the game at Hampden as their last throw of the dice, Georgia looked dangerous in the first leg against us, and Italy won some nonsense tournament in Germany last summer, so they’ll be no pushovers either.
Looks like a nervy couple of months if you’re a Scotland fan! But then again we wouldn’t have it any other way.
September 13, 2007 at 11:34 #114733Yep- congratulations are in order. A great night for Scottish football after looking all washed-up a couple of seasons ago. Well done..
September 13, 2007 at 21:09 #114838Indeed Jim – Absolutely incredible and all credit to the Ibrox contingent (Messrs Smith, McCoist and McLeish) who turned things around and moulded what looked very ordinary bunch of players into a very, very disciplined and hard to beat outfit. Passion, discipline and belief are the keys that have enabled them to upset all the odds and put themselves in a fantastic position to qualify. Last three games will be very, very hard but they showed yet again last night that they can live with anyone.
