I never knew Ref Point won the same Sandown maiden as Dancing Brave.
Also, did my ears deceive me, or did Wink Gulliver finish in behind Ref Point that day? Going on in later life to finish 4th in the Mildmay of Flete in 1991?

Crikes, I remember that one alright. As GG himself might say, “Can you name it?”
No idea who Youtube poster Manced42 is, but his downloads blend nicely with Arazi’s to give a huge and significant collection of watchable race footage. What a delight it was to watch the genuine oddity of the John Parrot Chase – just one lap of the National course – once again!

February 7, 2008 at 06:02 #140846Oh… here’s one. That race at Southwell (from memory) where they all fell and AP got back on the favourite and won about 15 minutes after the race started…. can’t remember the name of the horse… something Lad??
Would love to see that one again!
February 7, 2008 at 09:18 #140862The winning horse was Family Business, now a capable but ageing point-to-pointer for Debbie Ewing. The race took place on January 23rd 2002.
