1995 Champion Hurdle – Alderbrook[/url:2jsd67cx]This is only a short clip of the end of the 1995 Champion Hurdle. Alderbrook was brilliant that day. I think in that form he’s the only hurdler I’ve seen who could have given Istabraq a race.
1996 Champion Hurdle – Collier Bay[/url:2jsd67cx]
1997 Champion Hurdle – Make A Stand[/url:2jsd67cx]
1999 Champion Hurdle – Istabraq[/url:2jsd67cx]1994 Champion Chase – Viking Flagship[/url:2jsd67cx]
I’m not that fond of this race, it had a great finish but I always hate watching Remittance Man falling at the third last.

November 11, 2007 at 00:11 #1241141991 Breeders Cup Chase – Morley Street
Is this race still run? if it is then i am surprised its not caught the interest of our top chasers now.
November 11, 2007 at 00:43 #124120Arazi, cheers for the Make A Stand and the Flakey Dove.

Made my day.
November 11, 2007 at 01:34 #124126Thanks for my namesakes’s Rehearsal Chase- I was there that day and will never forget it (how I thought he’d jump around Cheltenham I don’t know)
November 11, 2007 at 07:43 #124134Arazi, cheers for the Make A Stand and the Flakey Dove.

Made my day.
Glad you enjoyed them.

Surprisingly, if my memory serves me right, I don’t think either Make A Stand or Flakey Dove won a race after their Cheltenham victories. I know Make A Stand didn’t because he got injured and didn’t race again until a few seasons later in the 2000 Champion Hurdle. I don’t recall Flakey Dove winning a race the following season either.

He was a seriously talanted chaser. At his best he’s as good a chaser that I have seen and I wish I had footage of him winning the Welsh National because he was a real superstar that day. Unfortunately, his jumping let him down in the Gold Cup although Golden Freeze didn’t help his situation in that race.

1994 Castleford Chase – Viking Flagship[/url:3vt0lxgr]
1995 Mumm Melling Chase – Viking Flagship[/url:3vt0lxgr]Here’s three of Viking Flagship’s victories. The 1995 Mumm Melling Chase was a great race with an amazing finish. He was really at the top of his game in the 94-95 season.
November 17, 2007 at 20:03 #125338Great stuff Arazi.
In Remittance Man and Montelado, you’ve provided footage of two of my favourite NH horses ever. I hadn’t seen the Arlington Premier Final since the race itself, so it was a real trip down memory lane!
Don’t suppose you have any Dato Star in your collection, do you? I wouldn’t mind seeing that Haydock Champion Hurdle trial again!

Sorry Grasshopper, i’m afraid I haven’t got any of Dato Star’s victories. Shame really because I remember him being really impressive at Haydock. He might of even given Istabraq a fright if the ground had been soft when he ran in the Champion Hurdle.
I’m glad you enjoyed the footage of Remittance Man & Montelado. Like you I was a big fan of both, espeically Remittance Man. I wish I had his Arkle chase victory and his comeback win at Kempton when he toyed with Deep Sensation.
I noticed you getting involved in that Moscow Flyer v Best Mate discussion. I say forget that one sided affair and just put Remittance Man v Moscow Flyer. That to me would be a much more exciting contest!

1994 Hennessy Gold Cup – One Man[/url:1x6jd4ey]
1994 William Hill Handicap Hurdle – Relkeel[/url:1x6jd4ey]
1994 Rehearsal Chase – Master Oats[/url:1x6jd4ey]
1994 Bula Hurdle – Large Action[/url:1x6jd4ey]
1994 Tripleprint Gold Cup – Dublin Flyer[/url:1x6jd4ey]
1994 King George Chase – Algan[/url:1x6jd4ey]No wondar One Man was so impressive in the 94′ Hennessy, he was carrying a light weight, the opposition had no chance!
Adrian Maguire was ice cool on Relkeel at Sandown. I always enjoy watching that finish. Large Action is up there with the best hurdlers I’ve seen never to win the Champion Hurdle. He was in fantastic form in the 94-95 season but unfortunately he ran into Alderbrook in the Champion Hurdle.
Algan is the luckiest winner of all time!November 26, 2007 at 21:47 #127304November 26, 2007 at 22:14 #127305arazi,
1994 must have been a golden yearbookies not that bad, as often, now
