Anybody got any fancy for League Winners this year? Do these bets every season, and never managed to land one. Went close on many an occasions………….sadly last season was [b:1u2z0urk]not[/b:1u2z0urk] one of those occasions. If your teams are in the hunt, can keep the interest going through those long cold winter months.
Championship:
Nottingham Forest @ 11’s
Ipswich @ 22’sLeague One:
Wolves @ 7-2
Peterborough @ 9’s
Sheffield United @ 11’sLeague Two
Chesterfield @ 8’s
Fleetwood @ 7’sConference
Forest Green @ 4’s
F’cking Luton @ 9-2
Wrexham @ 8’sScottish League 2
Peterhead 7-4.Having got my fingers burnt with the relegated sides from The Premiership last year, I’ve stuck with established sides in The Championship. Ipswich have Mick McCarthy at the helm, and I like managers with a decent track record at this level. Chance at a decent price. Billy Davies at Forest is potentially a very decent manager……..fingers crossed he can go the season without falling out with everyone.
In League One, Wolves, despite being abysmal last season, hoping that Kenny Jackett can steady the ship. They’ve surely got to be involved. Peterborough look a great price, with another manager, probably at his correct level, and would fully expect a run for my money. Sheffield United got off to a winning start last night, but apparently weren’t very impressive. Taken on the basis, that they’ve had a season to consolidate down there, and can only improve this season. Too big a club for this level.
Chesterfield are taken in League Two, as Portsmouth look in disarray and are too short (cue them romping it ) I like the teams coming up from The Conference, they’ve normally got a bit of momentum, and this certainly applies to Fleetwood. Been well backed in recent weeks.
In The Conference, it normally pays to side with the money, so the well fancied Forest Green are sure to go close. Wrexham are normally there or thereabouts, but seems to have money problems which continually hinder them. Would like to see them do it this year. As for L*ton, I’ve got to take them, as having been let down by them, the last 3 seasons, it would hurt too much if they won it, and I wasn’t on them.
Peterhead look rock solid in Scottish League 2.
I’ve permed them all, in 5 fold accas……all lines to pay a very handsome return………….one of these years
Good luck to those who’re doing them

Unlucky to miss out last season
August 3, 2013 at 11:38 #447506I been chipping away at Reading all summer it’s a hard and somewhat unpredictable division but like you say VTC can add a bit of interest to those long winter months. I’d fancy Adam Le Fondre for top goalscorer although have not parted with any dosh on that one.

August 3, 2013 at 12:14 #447516Aaah, Le Fondre, done me many a favour in his Rotherham days Nath, bet him a couple of times for Top Scorer over last few seasons……..could be a smart bet.
Good luck with Reading too.

August 29, 2013 at 19:32 #449779Following the Champions League Draw, I’ve had a bit on Chelsea at 11s with PP. With Jose in charge can’t see the group they’ve got causing to many problems. Would the self proclaimed ‘Special One’ rather win this than the Premiership?
I’m predicting an early exit for Arsenal, with Dortmund, Napoli and Marseille in their group, City and Utd have tough groups but should just about get to the knockouts. Celtic have bob hope . . .
August 29, 2013 at 19:54 #449786I think Dortmund are a tad big at 25’s.

August 30, 2013 at 07:40 #449812I’d tend to agree although a lot will depend on how well Mkhitarayan settles in, Gotze was great for Dortmund last year losing him was a blow.
I like Napoli to as big as 66s in places, Benitez in charge his record in Europe speaks for itself, he’s bought well getting Higuain in who will score goals and Reina on loan who made some mistakes in the last few years at Liverpool but is undoubtedly a quality keeper. I suppose both Dortmund and Napoli are overpriced as their in the same group as Arsenal and Marseille tough group.
August 30, 2013 at 10:06 #449830Yeah it’s all to do with the tough group, Dortmund are already shorter on betfair, if they progress the odds with fall quicker than Emile Heskey looking for a free kick.
