First 2 year old bet of the year.

    Classical Song @ 20’s

Quite impressed by her yesterday and would be very surprised if she is does not turn out to be easily a group class filly if given the chance this year.

I’ve went with See The Fire at 14-1 after the run today, but I’m not confident that this will be the ultimate target

I”ll also be on See The Fire once more but each way this time at 14/1. Looking forward to being there that day. :good:

Fallen Angel will be hard to oppose but I’m keeping the faith. :good: Jac

See The Fire is my selection too, but only at 8-1. I hope that 4-1 on Opera Singer is a sign that she isn’t going to take up her entry

Already on See The Fire EW at 14’s…
Looking forward to seeing her realise her potential without any mistakes at the finish this time.
As much as I would love to see Opera Singer run on Friday I hope she stays at home. :good: Jac

Something – anything! – please beat See The Fire on Friday.

I’ll never hear the end of it all bloody winter if Jac’s Classic hope wins the Fillies’ Mile!

You could pray that your big hope Opera Singer turns up as she’s the only one I’m worried about

Be good to see Jeff Smith have both a Derby and an Oaks horse after his Royal Lodge victory. See The Fire has something of the Arabian Queen about her.

That’s what first attracted me to her Ginger the combination of Sea The Stars and Arabian Queen and those Jeff Smith silks.
She looks very much like her sire, no markings and she certainly has his temperament and a great attitude.
We need another filly like Sea Of Class, sadly gone too soon and this filly has great potential. Jac

I honestly considered taking 14/1 Ylang Ylang for this on the Sunday night after the Arc as I really couldn’t see Opera Singer coming here.

But though I felt sure Ylang Ylang would really shorten – which she has big time – I just didn’t (and don’t) have much faith in her.

She doesn’t really seem to be progressive or improving with racing to me.

I really hope Ylang Ylang gets beat as I’ll be pig sick at not taking the 14s if she wins.

I don’t think you need to worry Ian.
Ylang Ylang like quite a few, has yet to win over the distance and put up a pretty poor performance in the Gp.1 won by Carla’s Way. IMO her current price of 3/1 is much too short and there are better fillies in this.

Of course you know who I will be supporting but I can see the favourite Shuwari running a big race, she was running on gamely last time after being left flat footed. I backed her that day and it was a badly misjudged race by jockey Murphy who admitted he got it wrong and let Spiritual and Carla’s Way get too big a lead.

If I was looking for a 14/1 EW shot it would be
    **Caught U Looking**
She ran in a tough Maiden (6th) won by Ylang Ylang but behind her in 8th was Opera Singer.

CUL then went on to win impressively at Leopardstown and then onto a Gp.3 at the Curragh where she beat the favourite Sakti by half a length with Brilliant in 3rd and Saturdays 20/1 winner Content in 6th.

I think you’re right about YY not improving Ian because all those she beat, that we have seen have come on leaps and bounds.
I think Caught U Looking will go on any ground (quite a low knee action even a bit scrappy at times but she is still learning) and should get the extra furlong, so she is in my Combination forecast selections with a small saver EW at 12/1 (Paddy Power)
You can get 14’s at Corals..

Can’t get to Newmarket on Friday so will have to watch See The Fire on ITV on Friday .. nail biting moment, but going on Saturday for the Cesarewitch and Dewhurst so lots to look forward too.

Best of luck if you have a bet..Jac :rose:

I don’t think See The Fire wanted all this rain. Shuwari’s win over Fallen Angel on soft reads well and she looks the one to beat now probably.

    Don’t say that Mike..lol
She’s already run well on soft going at Doncaster where she should have beaten Darnation and sire Sea The Stars won on soft, heavy yielding…any going.
If she’s anything like him she”ll win.

Agree Shuwari is the danger and Murphy will be sure to be up with the pace this time.

If See The Fire can beat Shuwari then she has a chance to take on Fallen Angel and that’s what I want to know.. :good:
    Best of luck.. :good:

Shuwari should have won lto, was after a short break and probably needed it a little aswell, back on soft, wouldnt have backed her at 6/4 but out around 3/1 on the exchange now will do me fine

Will have a bit on brilliant e/w @33/1, if you like the meade horses last run you have to like her chances at 6x the price to hit the frame

    Good looking race

The times haven’t been too terrible thus far at Newmarket.
More like good to soft than soft.
