Rumour has it the only thing in the yard fast enough to work with him is a Land Rover.

I've walked and I crawled on six crooked highwaysAugust 31, 2023 at 15:10 #1661614Yep..Arecibo is working hard building up muscle now pulling the Landrover round and fertilizing my back garden at the same time.
My money’s down and Arecibo’s all set for his Racing League debut..I can only hope he makes it a good one.Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...August 31, 2023 at 20:52 #1661639Place money in the bag, Jac..

Like a lot of cliff horses the appetite is often a bit blunted later in their career, and they may tire of the day job. We all know the term Spring horse, but with Cliff it’s often a case of –

A devout religious man – lets call him Father Cliff might occasionally accompany Father Chezza to the confessional box to give assistance with the hard cases and the hard of hearing. He would advise a cautionary stemming of too much showing of emotion, and would often give a supplementary penance to Father Chezza’s, being one of temperance and sobriety as you let your excitement run away with you, whilst washing your Arecibo sins to two aghast men of the cloth.

I already have the excuses worked out to convince me he is a certainty next time:
Wokingham – ground too fast and race developed away from him.
Stewards Cup – race run on borderline unraceable ground.
Ayr Gold Cup – poorly drawn.
He will obviously hack up on the bridle when conditions are right.

All this week, Significantly was my definite choice for the Ayr Gold Cup. Cometh the day, I changed my bloody mind and picked Orazio instead 😠
Orazio ain’t gonna be my cliff horse but I know that if I don’t pick him next time, he’ll come back to haunt me.September 24, 2023 at 06:57 #1664223My cliff horse is enjoying himself..
