Have these utube walking videos been on utube for ages then and did (as I assume) the BBC just pick up on the idea? It’s great, especially with me hiding from the world and having a dodgy knee that stops me walking far anyway, that I can see all these lovely places.

Yes Moehat, my girlfriend has been doing her walking videos for many years, at least six if not eight. She’s got a “go pro” but often just uses her phone. Done many from the Lake and Peak District too. Shirley’s don’t have much in the way of talking, preferring to concentrate on countryside. Other Youtubers talk a lot in theirs. Yes very much like the BBC’s Winter Walks etc.

To be honest I sometimes find the talk in these walk programmes a bit embarrassing, as if they’re desperately trying to think of things to say. Even Simon Armytage, who I really rate as a poet seemed stuck for words.
