Surely I am not alone in feeling I am waking up to some truly bewildering material here.
Massive credit to GT for remaining calm and reasonable throughout.
It’s a nice historic location for a walk, with a Point-to-Point racecourse included.
Ricky asked for photos, should I have ignored him because we disagree over Covid jabs?
And why exclude other forumites when there is a racing angle to this?
And, anyway, it’s The Lounge!

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"Alan King’s stable is located ar Barbury Castle and whilst I was employed there I often walked my dog around the “castle” and along The Ridgeway. I’m sure it would be lovely on a summer’s day but my sojourn was from October to February, it is quite exposed on top of the castle (shivering emoticon inserted here).
I’m enjoying watching those utube walks, especially as Storm Arwen hasn’t quite gone away and I don’t really want to leave the warmth of the living room.

I know little of the Ridgeway other than a short stretch to the west of Avebury which took me up onto the downs near Beckhampton; and this must have been well over thirty years ago as I recall seeing horses out and about and wondering if they were some of Jeremy Tree’s string
Further south, the train journey from Paddington to the south west takes you past the white horse on the scarp near Westbury and on each of the numerous times I’ve trundled past have promised myself a walk up, along and over those hills, but have yet to do it
