Getting back to the dream team of presenters – basically just watch Racing Uk and you have the ultimate dream team.
RUK is the thinking man’s station.
mmm, it can’t be the BF ratpack
nope, he’d not plug his own channel and work mates, surely
January 5, 2007 at 22:40 #35239My Fantasy Team
Presenter Robert Cooper – does not take himself seriously and makes me laugh
Interviewer Lydia Hislop – nice to look at (sorry)
Pundit Matt Doyle – always has something interesting and different to say around the form book unlike the bland utterings of many of the rest
January 5, 2007 at 23:08 #35240Ah, well – first the, er, Dream Team:
Presenters
Claire Balding (knows her stuff and holds it together well)
Robert Cooper (great entertainment)
Paddock
John Francome (because he knows a thing or two about horses and I really don’t give a s**t if he knows the form book because I don’t bet)
Commentator
Who else could it be but Simon Holt?
Interviews
aargh! No idea – just wish someone would shove Thommo’s mike where the sun don’t shine
Booth
Sean Boyce
and now … the Nightmare Team …
Presenters
Richard Pitman and Willie Carson
Paddock
Peter Scudamore
Commentator
Any one from Mike Cattermole, Thommo and Graham Goode
Interviews
Thommo without his mike inserted where the sun don’t shine
Betting Ring
Any of ’em !
January 5, 2007 at 23:11 #35241Peter Scudamore has to be THE worst presenter anywhere. I can’t actually think of an appropriate word to describe how bad he is.
I like Willie Carson, OK fair do’s he’s not very natural and he doesn’t put things across very well but some of what he says is quite intelligent and he makes me laugh.

January 6, 2007 at 08:58 #35243Should we do a few polls?;)
January 6, 2007 at 09:08 #35244Roving Reporters: Sayaka Isoyama, Yukie Kawamura
What station are they on? RTE?

To be fair does Scudamore do any broadcasting anymore? Even if he did I would have Carson way below him, he is utterley clueless and evidence if any was needed that people aren’t employed at the Beeb on performance.
Although Goode is the worst commentator, Mike "Mr Sycophant" Cattermole is the most overrated. Lot’s of big meetings, Cheltenham, Grand National, York, Ascot, Newbury etc don’t do justice to his lack of talent behind the microphone.
….more L!VE TV than RTE.
they’re a couple of (very respectable) japanese bikini models who probably like Deep Impact. ÂÂÂ
tell me this wouldn’t be a big step up on the current "crowd and connections" interviewers:

January 6, 2007 at 14:38 #35247I didn’t know we could have entrants from foreign shores, chaps.
Got to stick Beulah Twins in the mix somewhere!!

BF ratpack…that would be Mr Hoiles himself?
Anyway, my dreamteam as follows (dont get RUK so list is a bit limited):
Presenter – Claire Balding (having first humanely destroyed her little Willie)
Pundit/Paddock – Francome (more because of droll sense of humour than actual wisdom) and Williamson or that bloke who rode Rough Quest (temp forgot his name!!)
Commentator – tough one – I like McGrath’s voice, has the right kind of gravity for big races (Holt is a bit high pitched and skwawky), but Hoiles is prob best all-rounder for me.
Booth – definitely Boyce
Betting ring – has to be Stephenson (best of bad bunch, and feel sorry for her having to stand next to that obnoxious lard ass)
Interviewer – probably Hislop, but not cos I fancy her (cant see why so many people do!)
January 6, 2007 at 15:02 #35249For me, Cattermole will always be the guy who, when presented with the question:
"Who is Ioritz Mendizabal"
Replied "is it an anagram?"
And then (yes, it gets worse), when told it was the name of the jockey leading the French championship, gave a look that said "why the hell would I have known that?"
Please add him to my list of people who will be sacked.
Steve
January 6, 2007 at 16:36 #35250Call me pathetic if you want DJ but I’m being just as honest as those who say they like to see Hislop/Ramsden (Spencer now) etc on TV for "eye candy" purposes!
January 6, 2007 at 20:21 #35251
Presenters – Clare Balding & Norman for NH, Carson for flat.
Paddock – Francome & McGrath
Interviews/Roving Reporter – Lydia
Betting Ring – Big Mac/Sean Boyce
Commentary – Simon Holt & Lee McKenzie
Morning Line – Compo, Francome, Big Mac, Tanya (always tips big priced winners), and guest jockey/trainer/owner each week.
I would sack Aussie Jim, Angus, Scu, Richard Pitman & Lesley:biggrin:
January 6, 2007 at 20:47 #35252LEE MCKENZIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o
You jest, sir!

You are not very clued in if u believe that clown duggan has inside info on any top yards. He has first class honours in the art of bluffing. The so called inside info that u allude that he has in abundance was to tell the congregation at a Cheltenham preview that despite the welter weight of money for Dun Doire for the WIll Hill Chase, he was a non runner. Or maybe he had such an inside track that he was trying to put punters and bookies alike off the scent to get a bigger price for Harvey:o
Ratpack
I dont think Dave Duggan is what you make him out to be, i think the lads that work in Martins yard find it hard enough to know what hes doing with the horses let alone Dave Duggan. Look at Dessies Hughes and Shane Donoughe he tipped Schindlers Hunt up as an Arkle horse a couple of months ago(backed him at 60 on BF) and he was talking about Lordofourown for the past couple of months as a Welsh National Horse, and also gave a huge tip for Elhamri last year which gave me my biggest ever win. So as far as im concerned this lad knows something and you will get a chance to make you money on Dun Doire when he runs in the National.
January 7, 2007 at 08:13 #35254Just to confirm on this forum I am not ratpack !
