Baffled as to what Rainbow View is doing in here. Really am baffled. Not sure if Gosden even knows what he’s doing with her.

I backed Goldikova at 6.2 a couple of weeks ago and I’d be shocked to see her beaten here. Comfortably the best horse in the field. Spacious will play second fiddle.

I think Rainbow View has every chance. She’s getting a weight allowance, and the only one i can see standing in her way is Goldikova. It’s difficult to gauge where Goldikova is at right now after her dissapointing reappearance. She wasn’t expected to do much though.

What baffles you anyway ? she ran well at Ascot.

The 3 mentioned already for me too- 1st Goldikova, 2nd Spacious and 3rd Rainbow view, can’t see anything else getting involved.

Goldikova should be short here- If I can beat the current 5/2 I’ll be playing. Going should be on the fast side of good.

The Falmouth has recently favoured the three year olds with Nahoodh winning last year at quite generous odds, only two here.

Cosmopolitan: Hard to fancy on so much limited form to go off, and she hasn’t really set the world alight in poor races.

Eva’s Request: Massive improvement from last year, and should put up another good showing, although could be a touch outclassed, beat Spacious who in turn easily reversed form. 16/1 is not bad value though.

Goldikova: Even with a very disappointing reapperance, is eaisly the form pick and I would see her more of a 5/4-6/4 shot, however Freddy Head has failed to bag a single G1 I believe but even so 5/2 seems generous to me.

Heaven’s Scent: Deserves a big race but see her losing again.

San Sicharia: She is a sprinter imo and shouldn’t be running in this.

Spacious: 3 year olds have dominated recently, but the last one to do so had the Fanshawe/Murtagh combination which we see here with Spacious, obviously a key with her which was finally found, clearly has ability and another front running job will happen again, I think she has a big chance here

Penny’s Gift: Big heart who gives her all and overachieves, will try and go with Spacious but she was trading at 42’s and that is value to me who could hold on to a place, would be hard but wouldn’t put it past her.

Rainbow View: Absurd price, 2/1 is very short for what she has done, dont buy into the moral 2nd in the Coronation, she would have finished 3rd even if she wasn’t blocked imo, Reggane had a difficult passage also, not as bad as RV but still wasn’t plain sailing and Rainbow View wasn’t making much ground on Reggane, just looked impressive with Heart Shaped and Elusive Wave becoming tired, what it seemed to me.

If Freddy Head wasn’t in bad form I’d be on Goldikova but I will take Spacious for this.

The Cheveley Park twins will fight this one out again.

Some will trust Goldikova leaps back into world-class form and some will doubt her chances at the price. I’m in the latter half.

Spacious is almost certain to lead given her success at Royal Ascot, but she’s as about as unreliable as racehorses come and any faith placed in her would be tentative at best. Goldikova is certainly the logical choice, but she was massively disappointing on her reappearance (even allowing for the ground) and needs to prove that she’s capable of reproducing the form she showed last year.

For all that Rainbow View has failed to live up to her supposed promise – some of us successfully predicted her decline from prominence – she ran a sound race under an uninspired Jimmy Fortune at Ascot and has to have a chance with a sound pace assured.

I don’t know that she’s a 2/1 shot, but she’d be my pick at this stage.

It’s a race full of questions and it’s difficult to be confident on whoever you pick.

Rainbow View has ran some good races this season but I don’t know what she’s doing in this race. She shouldn’t have ran in the Oaks and she shouldn’t have ran in the Coronation. She finally get’s her ground now but is she going to be overrun?

Goldikova is the form pick by far but coupled with Freddy Heads form and her dissapointing 1st run she still has questions to answer.

Spacious is an inconsistent filly who has rarely put 2 good runs together. However, her new, different riding style, coupled with Johnny on board could see her go close. Again though, she doesn’t inspire too much confidence due to her inconsistent past.

Heaven Sent ran well behind Spacious LTO and should be primed for a decent run again. I feel she may have lost her chance at Ascot but knowing Spacious’ new tactics will Ryan Moore allow her that kind of lead again?

All in all, i think i’ll be leaving the race alone. If I had to choose i’d be on Heaven Sent e/w.

I’ve joined this forum in the hope of improving my betting and learning stuff along the way…it is interesting for me reading everyones comments and conclusions on this race as it is one that I am probably going to put money on – I am thinking that Goldikova will win if back to reasonable form, (I am not too worried about her last run or trainers form) I think that she should be favourite. I could see Spacious and Rainbow view being dangers, but don’t like the prices that I have seen so far. So it is a small stakes bet on Goldikova for me at what looks like 5-2ish (small stakes because I don’t think there is loads of value at that price.) Any feedback welcome… or is it just a matter of our own opinion on these things?

It’s just a matter of opinion mate. My first advice to anyone would be to make your own selections, as opposed to following other people. Although it can be handy to get other people view points from time to time.

As for the race itself. I was intending to go with Rainbow View, but i’ve decided to give Goldikova a second crack of this seasons whip. RV does have the weight allowance, but Goldikova comes in to this race fresher and i trust Peslier will give her a good one.

One or two are already saying Goldikova hasn’t trained on, so there’s only one way to find out.

If Penny’s Gift can get a soft lead then the 25’s will do for me – certainly worth a couple of quid and a winner last time out in Germany, definitely overpriced as is San Sicharia :)

Ground was very soft for Goldikova’s reappearance and Freddie Head was in awful form at the time (now much better). If it is a soundsurface it is worth taking a chance that she’s trained on at 2/1 or bigger (my price to beat for good going 7/4).

Heaven Sent seemas to be over priced at around 8/1. Don’t see why she should be much different to Spacious. Latter got a soft lead at Ascot, with Cosmopolitan and Penny’s Gift in the field, she probably won’t get her own way in front this time. I have both Chievely Park females on 13/2 (good going).

Eva’s Request (3rd in that race) should be better suited by an even pace too, but sems exposed as just under top class.

Cosmopolitan is my other possible bet, my price 22/1. Not raced in anything like this grade but has potential to improve. Probably won’t improve enough, but you never know. Idledin front last time and is better than form suggests.

Penny’s Gift scrambled home in the German 1000, needs to improve and may be taken on by Spacious here.

San Sichario seems listed / group 3 class at best. Best chance if it is slowly run and she can use her 6f speed.

Rainbow View is a favourite of mine, but has failed to come up to expectations this term. Some encouragement last time, late progress after being hampered. Still, I’d like to see some of her old temperament in the paddock before backing her.

My prices to beat on god going:
    Goldikova 7/4, Rainbow View 3/1, Spaious 13/2, Heaven Sent 13/2, Cosmopolitan 22/1, Eva’s Request 25/1, Penny’s Gift 28/1, San Sichario 80/1.

No shortage of confidence from Head in the RP today.
