I agree. Was there no on duty police officer on course?
As for Fallon and crime ……. He may not have a conviction but since when is taking cocaine legal? He certainly served time for that indiscretion.
March 23, 2010 at 11:42 #285043oh dear!after 4 days of fantastic jumping we now get this from the flat!
March 23, 2010 at 12:09 #285047I’d put good money on Kieren flooring the bloke if he tried it on face to face.
"…he hits like a girl". Well said, Kieren.
Fallon was, and probably still is, handy with his fists. He’s quite a good boxer, by all accounts.
Gambling Only Pays When You're Winning
March 23, 2010 at 13:06 #285059According to the news report Fallon said something along the lines of "I couldn’t react as you can’t do that sort of thing in public."
Keiren might have opened up a can of whupass on him if the owner had been stupid enough to try it in private.
Absolutely dreadful behaviour and the guy should be warned off for a long time. I thought there was always a police presence on racedays.
March 23, 2010 at 13:38 #285062Is every single future newspaper article about Fallon going to contain a reference to his 18 month drug ban or his race-fixing trial?
I didn’t see too many articles after Binocular’s Champion Hurdle win which referred to Nicky Henderson as having served a 3-month ban for administering a prohibited drug to a horse owned by the Queen.
March 23, 2010 at 14:17 #285067Fallon should pull a drive-by on a horse.
March 24, 2010 at 16:48 #285338I’m not sure the guy should be warned off, or at least not for any lengthy amount of time, but he should be fined and lose some owners priviledges for a few months. But it was the heat of the moment and he lost it. Not great admittedly, but hardly totally unforgivable.
March 24, 2010 at 17:29 #285350You are kidding right? If you jumped the barriers and punched Ji Sun Park in the face because he scored the winner against Liverpool and you had bet against United I very much doubt you’d step foot legally on a football ground in country again and you’ve have been arrested.
A ban should be the only course of action here, this type of behaviour if shown tolerable in any shape or form will do racing no favours.

Rubbish
March 25, 2010 at 11:07 #285486I really cant comprehend why the guy hasnt been given a ban.
Its astonishing, any other sport and a lot more would have been made of this.
March 25, 2010 at 11:37 #285489I just hope Mr. Fallon takes the matter further and the assailant is summoned to appear before the local magistrate in due course.

You must be joking tbracing?! Are you not aware that a special dispensation is given in respect of violence toward Manchester United players. In the case of Scouse vs. Regina (2009) a precedent in law gave all true football fans the right to take pot shots at any United player. This came about after the Court of Appeal heard evidence from Witness Benitez (a professor of tinkerology) that United’s success is such that any sane and level-headed person would be pushed beyond the limit of frustration.

Reminds me of an old joke;
What goes clip-clop clip-clop clip-clop BANG!!!?
A drive by shooting in Perth!
Oh well it was funny when i last heard it

Sorry, but not the kind of conduct expected on a racecourse. It was common assault and had it been outside a pub (bear in mind that Fallon was not the only one touched) he would have spent the night in a cell. I agree with a lengthy ban and if I had been his trainer he would have to find somewhere else for his horses. No way should this man be allowed back on a race track for a long long time.
March 29, 2010 at 14:17 #286280David Reynolds gets a three month ban and a £10,000 fine.
Light on one and heavy on the other in my opinion.

Understandable, if he got a long ban but a little fine how would they get any money out of him as an owner. If he pays the 10 grand fine they get the best of both worlds if he returns as an owner in 3 months.
On the other hand he may prefer to walk away from the sport and keep his 10 grand. -
