Is anyone here going to bother watching M Schumacher win the French GP tomorrow? I’d rather watch the Men’s tennis final personally. At least i’m not sure who will win that one ;)
Another suggestion which has been floated around the F1 paddocks recently is to have qualifying consisting of two mini-races of 10 laps each, the grid positions of which would be determined by numbers out of a hat. Whatever tyre / fuel set-up is started with would have to last the driver into the race proper on the Sunday.
Ecclestone is apparently quite keen on the idea as it seems (marginally) less of a punishment of good drivers than simply flipping the grid round such that the last in qualifying is first on the grid and vice versa. The teams are much less keen!

Something needs to change for sure. Anyone notice how Barrichello just happenned to win the most recent race. Convienient that Barrichello finds his form in the very race after Schumacher has secured the championship
I should imagine that Barrichello will win enough races now to secure second place in the table. Of course, Schumy will toddle in second in every one to secure the constructors championship for Ferrari.
I never bother watching it now, it’s become a joke. I will consider tuning in again when they take away the yawning financial gap between Ferrari and the rest (and the hole in the rulebook that allows the teams to decide pre-race which of their drivers passes the line first). Every driver should be driving on their own merits. Until that happens, the sport can only be defined as pre-choreographed entertainment. Schumy wins every race until the championship is secured, once that is achieved he steps aside to allow his partner to win the rest and secure second place and the team honours too. It’s utter crap in it’s present format. I used to love the sport. Not any more.
