I think my son is the Tom Segal of Eurovision
He bloody loves it…
He told me to back Cyprus a few years back at over 100/1 and although they lost, went off the favourite on the night.
A couple weeks back he asked me to put his pocket money on Switzerland and Bulgaria 20’s and 14s
This morning he told me that their is only 3 countries left to get their entry’s in.
I go and check the odds and see he has beat the prices yet again.

Managed to scrape a bit of the 150/1 about San Marino but got knocked back to pitiful stakes. Those bets look brilliant now, think Switzerland’s entry is stronger than Bulgaria. Will look to get a price on Switzerland to win the jury vote closer to the time.

Value Is EverythingUK have submitted a better entry than recent years, but the standard goes up every year. We won’t come last (Spain who have a similarly dismal record have submitted their usual dross) but I can’t see top half with whichever 10 countries coming out of Semi 1 plus France, and a couple of strong ones from Semi 2.
Although I like my San Marino bet given it was such a price, I wouldn’t put their true chance anything bigger than a 33/1 shot or so. They’ve redone their song and I’m not sure it’s actually improved. They should get through Semi 2 (easily the weaker of the 2) but with Malta, Switzerland & France in here I think they’ll be squeezed out on the jury vote. They’ll need staging like Cyprus 2018 to propel the song + the Flo Rida factor and I’m not sure they’ll get it.
I think it’s between the front 3, and would prefer betting France at 5/1. But it is my favourite song, so wondering if I’m a shade biased. The ‘to qualify’ market for Semi 2 should be good, Czech Republic & Albania might be priced up at something around the 5/2 mark which would be very appealing.

Had to laugh out loud at that TKF.Don’t get carried away. Just as much a popularity contest as musicality. Europeans hate us right now. Last time we won was when Tony Blair had just come to power. If wanting us to win this again get rid of Boris, put a leftist in Downing Street and tell Europe we’ll have another Brexit or rather “Brentry” referendum if they let us win.
