Outright Spain backers of a nervous disposition should consider securing at least part of their stake as the Spaniards demonstrated in the Semi 2nd half that they consider football as merely an art form rather than business!
Hunch is that there may be some first half goals so two being netted @ 5/2 appeals. 1st half highest scoring not quite so attractive @ 9/4. Is two Spanish ones really 7/1? Not waiting for that bus, though.
So will it be Spanish grace or English grit
July 14, 2024 at 19:38 #1701872If Spain go 1 up… England won’t get away with it like they have the last 3 games
they will get picked off.. Someone else said it on here I think. England haven’t kept the ball well apart from the pick up in the dutch game and Spain keep the ball best in this tournament10/1 2-0 c/s Spain

July 14, 2024 at 19:57 #1701873Come on England … put the pain into Spain 🔥
July 14, 2024 at 20:59 #1701880Get Kane off the field.
The more I know the less I understand.
July 14, 2024 at 21:04 #1701882Should have started on the bench RTB. Only brought on for the final 10 minutes if needed for penalties.
July 14, 2024 at 21:20 #1701883He’s off we can now play with eleven players instead of ten.
The more I know the less I understand.
July 14, 2024 at 21:53 #1701886Great account given by England. Justified their finalists status. Spain worthy champions.
July 14, 2024 at 21:58 #1701887Apart from a couple of good moments this has been a very average tournament for England. Every performance was lacking apart from a half decent 1st half against the Swiss and a good one vs the Dutch. Southgate found wanting again and again and again.
July 14, 2024 at 22:01 #1701888I wouldn’t say ‘great’ account. We had Spain on the back foot into the second half … then just took our feet off the accelerator. Should’ve done better IMO. England don’t know how to use the Kryptonite.
July 14, 2024 at 22:03 #1701889England were very poor in every game

July 14, 2024 at 22:06 #1701890Best team won so well done Spain. For a European final it was a good game but England were just not good enough.
The more I know the less I understand.
July 14, 2024 at 22:13 #1701895Agree the best team won. England rode their luck getting to the final but it wasn’t to be.
Kane saying the players were tired in the last 10 minutes. For goodness sake, the European Championship was on the line. They should have been buzzing.

“Southgate found wanting again and again and again.”
Agree. His apologists point to his record of reaching semis and finals. But he has not won any of them. He blew a great opportunity after going 1-0 up against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup semi final and a gilt edged opportunity in the 2020 Euro final: 1-0 up with home advantage. Tactically he is not good enough and too negative.
July 14, 2024 at 22:28 #1701899Interview with Southgate on the BBC, question “another final another disappointment” have I missed other finals in the last 58 years?
The more I know the less I understand.
July 14, 2024 at 23:03 #1701902Good run from England, after the Iceland defeat years ago, to have achieved two finals in the EUROS and WC Semi and QF, Its been a good trip…Let move on with ..a new manager, Klopp would be the one for me..but probably Germany bound.
July 14, 2024 at 23:22 #1701904Spain much superior but got a decent run for my money
July 14, 2024 at 23:32 #1701905Well I’m not going to pretend I’m disappointed, I did back Spain after all. I’m
also pleased I didn’t take the £157 before the match, although I did sweat a little
(just a jot) when England equalised. I know that Southgate appears to be unpopular,
but I don’t see them shifting him off the manager’s job although I agree his tactics
have been well off at times. He’s probably just saving himself for the world cup
July 15, 2024 at 09:12 #1701914‘Agree the best team won. England rode their luck getting to the final but it wasn’t to be.’
Sums it up well. No side has any divine right to win it and the fact is Spain played better on the night so they deserve it based on that.
I do think it’s time for Southgate to move on amicably. He’s found his level, which is second best, and he has at least salvaged some pride with this run but we need someone to take us that one step further which these players should be capable of. If the next tournament doesn’t go to plan and we’ve tried someone else then at least we gave it a shot, serious questions would be asked if we went with Southgate again and didn’t win.
Thanks for the memories Gareth
