Value Is EverythingJuly 2, 2024 at 22:36 #1700624That was great fun, what a save at the death.
July 5, 2024 at 10:41 #1700784Eight left and time put the cards on the table as regards most likely winner!
Spain Win v Germany
England Win v Switzerland9/2 Double Chance!
Euro 2024 Winner Spain @ 4/1
Spain can go any of three ways
Poor opposition have made them look world-class and they trip up against the Germans tonight or subsequently
Spain carve out laborious wins in three remaining matches
Spain are only exceptional outfit and cruise through to victoryNot really impressed by Germany against Denmark. Looked workmanlike by comparison with the great German sides of the past. No real signs for me of well balanced dynamic midfield play or crack strikers up front. I would fear Portuguese and the Dutch opposition more than Germany or England.

July 6, 2024 at 18:00 #1701098Pundits well pleased half time it’s all good, shots on target, none.

July 6, 2024 at 19:59 #1701109Impressive in the shoot out

The more I know the less I understand.
July 6, 2024 at 21:49 #1701118My nerves are gone! Very pleased for Saka, takes great character to step up and bang one away after last time. Have we ever scored all five in a shootout before?
July 6, 2024 at 23:19 #1701125I’m glad to see England through to the semi finals, but I have to be honest they
have had a great run whilst managing not to meet any of the the top guns. I don’t
know how they would have done against Germany, France, Spain, Italy or even Portugal.
Just to clarify, as a Scotland supporter, the way we played we didn’t deserve to be
at the Euros and it’s embarrassing to see the negative system they set up. I think
Steve Clark has to go.The Netherlands is England’s first real test. If they get through it then they
deserve their place in the final. I will shout them on but as a punter, I’m not
sure they will get my cash.July 6, 2024 at 23:45 #1701128Spain the best side so far in my book and they are now rightfully favourites. I thought quotes of 6s or 7s were big a couple of weeks ago and so it has proved.
Question marks against most of the other big guns. Italy are a shadow of their former selves, Portugal’s last goal outside shootouts came in their second group match, six hours of football before being knocked out, surely a record. France through to this stage with two own goals and a penalty outside the shootout. Germany like England rescued themselves with late goals a couple of times. Netherlands carrying a loss.
England have obviously been quite poor but it’s all to play for now. My hope is that a heavyweight team will bring out the best in us.
July 6, 2024 at 23:57 #1701130“I’m glad to see England through to the semi finals,
I will shout them on”
————————
You hadn’t better shout too loudly, BigG.
Your fellow Scots will lynch you.
tbh I never see the point of “local” rivalry either.
I grew up and “supported” Southampton, but cheered on Portsmouth when they won the FA Cup…
And if Scotland are not playing England I’ll shout them on too. Ditto Wales and Northern Ireland… And if none of the UK is playing Ireland (Southern) as well.Value Is EverythingJuly 7, 2024 at 00:16 #1701132England haven’t been great, but the expectation was too high going into the competition. Kane and Bellingham weren’t playing as well as they had been earlier in the season… And England had even lost a couple of games at Wembley in the lead up. However, they’ve been better than many pundits give them credit for. Not many chances given away and the cross for the goal today went through the legs of Konsa and deflected off Stones (bit unlucky there). Been pretty good defensively. If Shaw is fit to start that could improve our chances. Steady progression going forward too.
The one definite massive improvement we’ve made from previous tournaments is in the Penalty Shootout. Something that has been the way we’ve gone out many times in the past. So our chance of going through in the Semi and actually winning the Final is imo pretty good.
Value Is EverythingJuly 7, 2024 at 00:54 #1701134First tournament I remember is Euro 96. Given the number of defeats in quarter finals and/or on penalties (and worse) that followed, this run of three semis or better in four tournaments is more than welcome.
Knockout football is just that, all you have to do is knock the other team out by whatever means necessary.
July 7, 2024 at 02:12 #1701136You have me pegged Ginger, I support any of the nations, and Rangers and
Celtic if they are in a Euro tournament. Life is too short to spend time
being filled with ill will and I’m glad the question off independence has
been hit on the head, whether I was for or against.I did bag Spain at 13/2 much earlier, I should have declared it but I can
always get a copy of the bet and send it on email to Nathan to verify. I
hope they give the French a good seeing to on Tuesday
July 7, 2024 at 21:52 #1701192I haven’t got a patriotic bone in my body….
I’d rather win a 50p loss on a scratch card than England win anything
I’m on the Dutch at 18s, 16s and 21 with the exchange
I’m not cashing out
Van Dijk to rocket a header past T-Rex arms would be the perfect scenario
Viva the Netherlands….😘
