Netherlands 18/1
Look a big price based on the strength of their squad.
Forward line not the strongest but midfield and defence more than make up for it.Can’t have England as favourite, the keeper is a clown and the defence very average, Branthwaite is a must and that will improve their chances as the midfield and forwards are a decent bunch if Southgate lets them play

June 1, 2024 at 07:27 #1696380I looked at this a few weeks ago, and chucked a free bet at Austria 80/1. Tough group, but its possible that 3 will go through. Seem to be on a good run under Ralf Rangnick, the locals are thinking they could reach the last 4.
I did take England at 9/2 last year, Im happy with that it will pay the bar bill IF they won it.
Portugal could be interesting at 8/1 if Ronny does not play.June 13, 2024 at 17:08 #1697753So as the South American Copa America on at the same time.
For a mad interest Portugal + Brazil double at 23.38/1 thats 13/2 and 9/4. Should get a run for my money.June 14, 2024 at 19:11 #1697857betfair sportsbook superboost

June 14, 2024 at 19:48 #1697864Absolutely no idea what to expect from England. I’ve had this nagging feeling for a while now that we’ll completely stuff it up and go out in the quarters like the old days.
We’re a good side and are justifiably in the conversation, although I think favourite, even if is marginal, is probably just a case of the bookies knowing they can get away with it. Second, maybe joint second with Germany who enjoy home advantage, would seem fairer.
June 14, 2024 at 20:15 #1697868Agree that England as favourites is a joke but I suppose that there are enough idiots who will be lumping on to make bookies want to deter any serious bets (just in case).
I like to predict the finalists (and have done quite well over the years). Very disappointed that Betfair isn’t offering this (not obviously anyway). Only other online account I have is the Tote and that locked me out when I declined “non essential” cookies so that’s that. For the record, I would have gone France v Netherlands.
June 15, 2024 at 18:26 #1698023I used to look forward to watching football, but these days I will probably only watch bits of the bigger tournaments. Personally, I would rather watch the old clips on Big Match Revisted. So much has changed, arguably plenty not for the better. We see the ‘stars’ on adverts demonstrating their technical ability, but where is that stuff in the game? Most of the time you have 22 athletes just trying to pass their way through the opposition; dribbling has all but disappeared, and at the other end of the scale the hard tackle has all but gone as well. I wonder how these athletes would have coped with pitches that had more mud than grass, and some proper tackling. Badly, would be my guess. The game has probably moved on in terms of defensive organisation, but in terms of attacking flair, the more entertaining aspect of the game, I don’t think so.
June 15, 2024 at 18:38 #1698025Serious statement of intent this from Spain. I don’t think Croatia have done that much wrong but they’ve been made to look like a pub side and we know historically at least they are very formidable in international tournaments. If they came up against England (Spain) those young lads on the wing will have a field day against our defence with their pace.
Literally as I type this the goalkeeper has decided to have a brain fart. He could well be their weakest link
June 16, 2024 at 15:07 #1698081Very worried as most are about the English defence.
Id expect Serbia to try and unsettle them in the first 20 mins and nick a goal. Then England come on strong in the second half.
Serbia HT England FT 25/1.
BTTS England win 9/4
Denmark to win to nil 13/8 and BTTS England win double 9/4 @ 7.53/1June 16, 2024 at 16:45 #1698099After watching Spain and Germany openers England must realise they cannot afford to pace themselves into the competition.
England Win H/T v Serbia @ 1/1
What were that crowd doing playing Putinland in March
June 16, 2024 at 18:34 #1698108well thats my double gone..tears..
June 16, 2024 at 21:29 #1698116Hanging on at the moment, need a second or there is a serious chance of an equaliser.
June 16, 2024 at 22:11 #1698117I think that’s what you call the opposite of riveting entertainment. I refer to my post above. Lots of running about, lots of tedious passing, but next to no excitement. One overrated bunch scrambling over the line against a bunch of second raters.
June 16, 2024 at 22:51 #1698118It wasn’t great second half. Thing is Denmark and Slovenia didn’t look brilliant in the other game either so we’ve got no worries about not topping the group and then its down to how the draw pans out I guess. Have to hope we grow into the tournament. Worth noting Argetina lost their first group game to Saudi Arabia at the World Cup so its a marathon not a sprint etc
June 16, 2024 at 23:09 #1698120Sport should be entertaining, that’s the hope I start out with. If England are the 4th best team in the world, I think we need to start worrying about the game itself. How can Kane who has scored 40+ goals in a season look so bad, and the same goes for Foden. Are the actual leagues nowhere near as good as is made out?
June 17, 2024 at 07:38 #1698133A sportsperson/team’s job is to win. England won ugly, that’s just the way it is sometimes.
Did we play as well as Germany or Spain? Nowhere near but that’s not how tournaments work. We didn’t entertain as much as they did either but we got the same three points.
If France grind out a 1-0 win later you’ll be hearing from the media all about how the best teams win when not playing at their best.
As I recall the last Euros group for England was two 1-0 wins and a goalless draw and we very nearly won the thing.
