Reach For The Moon 14-1
September 11, 2021 at 11:33 #1560014Runs today in the Champagne Stakes.
September 11, 2021 at 12:01 #1560021Currently top-priced 16/1 for the 2,000 Guineas and 11/1 for The Derby.
I would expect him to be 10/1 for the Guineas and 7/1 for The Derby if he wins today and even shorter if he wins impressively.
Sea The Stars out of a Sadler’s Wells mare looks a vintage middle-distance p pedigree at first glance, but Sea The Stars also won the 2,000 Guineas, Sadler’s Wells won the Irish 2,000 Guineas and it’s not hard to see here Reach For The Moon has got the speed for 7f as a juvenile from.

BUY THE SUN
September 11, 2021 at 14:24 #1560067Not sure what to make of that , positive is he stuck at it and prob didn’t enjoy the ground , wonder what the bookies will make of it
September 11, 2021 at 14:26 #1560069Lol Tatling it’s us who pay for all her painting and decorating at said poor houses
September 11, 2021 at 14:27 #1560070Bit tactical with RFTM having to make the running. Frankie reported the horse ran flat, didnt give him the same spark as before so maybe something may come to light later.
September 11, 2021 at 14:29 #1560072Not impressed. Had the run of the race, his main market rival ran poorly and he still could not win.
September 11, 2021 at 14:30 #1560074I always hate it when jockeys spend half the race looking through there legs , Frankie never looked truely happy , I bet he was a fair price in running
September 11, 2021 at 14:31 #1560076Yes lusail has run twice on soft ground and run poorly both times
Writing could be on the wall for point Lonsdale too
Maritime wings did nothing for his form today
And on collateral form with bayside boy and Masekela native trail looks a very good bet for tomorrow now
September 11, 2021 at 14:34 #1560079My first reaction was Reach For The Moon is too slow for the 2,000 Guineas, but could still be a Derby horse.
But a paddock judge I greatly respect thinks the ongoing hood in the paddock is a concern and it might not train on.

September 11, 2021 at 14:40 #1560082“I always hate it when jockeys spend half the race looking through there legs”.
Agreed HDLG. Dettori seems increasingly obsessed with doing this at big meetings, ever since Ed Chamberlain went completely OTT and creamed his pants about him doing it in the Lockinge.

September 11, 2021 at 14:53 #1560086Tatling there is the odd time when a jockey is cruising and he just wants to make sure he doesn’t win by too far ….most of the time it’s ” oh **** I’m in trouble ” though
September 12, 2021 at 06:40 #1560213John Gosden, who trains Reach For The Moon in partnership with his son Thady, felt the conditions had gone against his charge.
He said: “The jockey said he wasn’t in love with the ground, he wasn’t travelling on it like he normally does.”
“It’s gone a bit dead, it’s drying out after last night’s rain and trying to make all into a headwind was just a bit much.”
“Better ground, better horse is all I can say.”
“Frankie knew he was in trouble from a long way out because of the ground.”
September 20, 2021 at 21:02 #1561060Maybe i’m missing something, but i presume Luxembourg will go to the Beresford this weekend having looked pretty decent on debut. 33/1?
