Makes his belated return to the track in the Download The At The Races App Novice Stakes (GBB Race) at Lingfield tomorrow at 3:22.
I had Enoch pencilled in for the 2000 Guineas (even the Derby too) earlier in the year but it didn’t materialise due to some small setback.
Hopefully, he’ll progress from his fascinating winning debut and take this race without too much fuss. Fingers crossed.
August 26, 2026 at 18:40 #1774438Interesting that the horse who finished last that day, Magnetude, now has the highest OR at 94. The rest of them are in the 60s, 70s and 80s, so it doesn’t look like it was an especially strong race, although it must be noted that Enoch won nicely.
August 26, 2026 at 19:58 #1774439What struck me about Enoch’s debut was his closing sectionals for the race. They almost matched Gewan’s last 3 furlongs in the Dewhurst just over a fortnight later.
While it is not really appropriate to compare sectionals separated by such a time span of just over 2 weeks, I still found the stats interesting since both races were at Newmarket over the same distance and the Gd/Firm going.
Gewan was the highest rated 2YO of 2025.

I thought the horse did well to win and that there’s loads more to come, but the bare form is a long way off Group class.
August 29, 2026 at 18:04 #1774589Well firstly, the horse has a terrier-like determination and does have an effective finishing kick to compliment it. Improvement seems inevitable.
I think you’re right that he’s below Group class. My opinion is that he’ll go handicapping and go down the route where Pipedreamer went for Mr Gosden around twenty years ago.
September 15, 2026 at 23:16 #1775668I see he’s running in the 4.12 Yarmouth tomorrow. Clear favourite on his handicap debut, surely he’s better than an opening mark of 95? 🤔
September 16, 2026 at 07:52 #1775677Blimey – he’s been hammered overnight, from a best price of 5-2 when I looked yesterday evening to 6-5 this morning. 😳
September 16, 2026 at 16:17 #1775687Pretty poor show – Ryan Moore gave up very quickly about a furlong and a half out, so I wonder if he felt the horse went wrong? 🤔
