No need, they can just run in the Kim Muir, like Chambard; the Ultima, like Vintage Clouds; the Grand Annual, like Global Citizen or Croco Bay; the Plate like Coole Cody or even the NH chase like Rathvinden or Ravenhill.
March 29, 2022 at 17:51 #1590272For me the Ultima and KIm Muir are too similar, Green. I was thinking more that a Veterans chase could replace the Kim Muir. An amateur Veterans handicap chase.
Value Is EverythingMarch 29, 2022 at 19:37 #1590288I could be a lone, and curmudgeonly, voice but veteran’s races, not a fan.
A bit like “legends” football matches or exhibition darts or snooker games between has-beens.
But they do seem very popular so….
March 30, 2022 at 00:57 #1590333They are some of my favourite races, except they get won too often by “unexposed” ten year-olds I’ve never heard of…
March 30, 2022 at 16:49 #1590390There is already the excellent Veterans’ Final. It’s at Sandown in early January. Leave it there.
March 30, 2022 at 17:11 #1590395If you watch the race the old rogue is idling after the last threatening to chuck it away …you,ve got to love these old characters , need to make the most of them while there still here , part of me what’s to be at Ayr to see Bristol on Sat
