April 4, 2014 at 17:59 #474402I asked Liam about Renard and he said the owners didn’t want to pay for the next elimination stage but that he did run well at 3 miles; I did point out that my mate had backed him at 100/1 and that I narrowly escaped doing the same but he’s too sweet to get angry with.
April 4, 2014 at 21:08 #474467Just imagine if Liam did get the ride on The Dude tomorrow [although it looks as if Carberry is ok to ride]! I know she got beat today [although was giving weight to the others] but Conor said The Govaness is very special and has already schooled over fences really well. Also said that Alvarado would go well if he took to the place tomorrow but that the horses were still a bit in and out and he was a bit of a character. If the season carries on as it has been I won’t even have a horse in the first 4 tomorrow even though I have backed most of the field. It’s been dire.
April 4, 2014 at 22:50 #474492VtC, whats the best thing to do with 9 selections for the national in trifectas etc.? I’ve got the first 3 for sure.
I must admit I pretty dumb in this department so if you could keep things simple it would help.
Charles Darwin to conquer the World
April 4, 2014 at 22:51 #474493Would love to see him get a ride too moe, but don’t think it’d be ideal circumstances to see him get a ride now.
I know you’ve had a rough season, but still got tomorrow, Ayr, Fairyhouse, Perth, Punchestown, and Sandown to go……..plnety of time to turn it round. After my dog of a season last year, things have been much, much better this year, it all goes in cycles……..well that’s what I keep telling myself anyway.
I’ll definitely keep my eye on The Govaness
April 4, 2014 at 23:02 #474497Oh jeez, that’s a tough one Nath. 9 makes life tough.
If you’ve got the first 3, then I’d keep them apart, and make sure you’ve got them covered in Trifectas of their own. Definitely for at least 30p’s, as should be good pot tomorrow.
I think the sensible thing to do, would then be pick a couple of the "best of the rest", and perm the 5 of them, obviously will up the cost, so the stakes will have to come down then. To be honest, I’ve never permed 9, but think I came close in last years Pertemps

However, if you’re pooling the picks on behalf of a few others, and they’re not just your selections then I think that would be affordable, it works out to 504 bets, so at ten pence a line, that’s "only" £50.40. A fair go on your own, but between friends and family, very affordable……and could keep the interest going longer.
I hope this makes sense, and is some help…….

*****I’ve just seen on the Grand National thread, that they’re all yours Nath…….I’ll get the thinking cap on, either that or your hit with a £50 fun bet
