I believe Hexham stage two races over 4 miles, one in the same week as the Cheltenham Festival, the other in December of January called something like the Hexham National.
Been flicking through my database…
It’s the Northumberland National, or rather was, as it’s now known as the Solar Signs Handicap Chase, run in late November
The Borders National at Kelso, now run in early December used to be run in March, and in 2007 when the dates changed there were actually two races: one in March and one in December

The Devon Marathon Handicap Chase is run in the same week as the Borders National, so we currently have three four-milers run within the space of about two weeks and then nothing until the Eider in late February
And there are of course three four-milers run during Cheltenham Week – The National Hunt Chase, that famous Handicap Chase for the particularly slow at Hexham, and the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter
The Doncaster four-miler in late January was only staged for three years – 2008-10
